    hi there..

i am what you call a newbie.

    place: chennai
owns: rx 100, a grey colour, stock bike
work: senior reporter with an english daily, goes around the state quite often (not on the bike. unfortunately.)

knowledge about bikes: close to nothing other than riding my bike. wants to modify it even while keeping the engine at its stock peak power. even though i know nothing about it (other than some jargons), its one of my dream to work on the machine on my own - my wife is more than willing to take part, but is equally ignorant. so, for now, whatever i want to do on my bike is through experts. my needs are not big: good electrical work, a good spark, good quality oil, some clean ups, checking and changing filters and stuff. i need advice on the best equipment in market and place to source, if someone knows..

wants to know: everything, and how to look for 'everything' inside the forum. i have a bad back after riding the bike as part of my work over the years. as much as i am in love with it overall, the present condition of its shocks is getting on to me and my spondilitis. i want to know what shock is best. trying to find that out sitting crouched in front of my laptop has not done anything good to my back either. i guess there is a better way that i am not aware of.

not attaching any pictures of my bike. honestly, i dont think many of the rx lovers or bike lovers would appreciate the look of my bike. its dusty and dirty. no indicators and the whole speedo and console. i like the bike as naked as possible. but i dont care much about cleanliness. the engine and other mechanics are the only thing i am really worried about. and i have never delayed the proper and periodical service (the only time the bike is washed!).

those who are aware of existing threads about suspension, electricals, handling etc may please advice on how to check those links. any help is appreciated.

    thanks a bunch..

The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!
