I own a Honda Unicorn.. was gifted to me by uncle way back in 2005 because I got admitted to a good engineering college. Though I did not know how to drive properly, I convinced my uncle and took it out for a ride. It was around 8 PM, in Guntur. The roads wore a deserted look. With my pulse racing, I pushed the bike to 50kmph. Satisfied, I saw a U-turn up ahead and thought I'd head back because I did not want my uncle to throw a fit. crrraaasssssssshhhhhhhh! I fell down. Nobody's fault. I just could not control my bike at the speed with which I turned. And that was my first crash on my first ride on my first bike (did I already mention that it was brand new? :P)
Almost 5 years on, I have been involved in countless accidents - most of them due to my own negligence, my own immaturity, those rash moments when I felt that I had to prove to some other speeding idiot on the road that I had a better bike.. that I was a better rider.
But each incident taught me something - every single one helped me me become smarter, more experienced, and even more responsible. I learnt that riding has a lot more to it than just setting the road on fire (speeding is an integral part - we can't deny it :P) I learnt what I did when I went on my own long (<10 kms and well within the city limits, but they sufficed) rides, all alone.. But I probably learnt the most when I saw a dear friend of mine cherish those small rides on my Unicorn when we used to meet up. He had a Passion plus back then, and now owns an R-15 (poor bastard is scared shitless whenever I take his bike out
) He introduced me to xBhp.My name is Ravi. I am currently in Bangalore, might soon be asked to move to Chandigarh (against my will) but I am and will forever, be a Hyderabadi. And my heart still races whenever I turn on the ignition..
Looking forward to some great rides and to meeting even better bikers.
Cheers!
