  • Hello from Portugal

    Hello dear biker friends,

I'm 46, born in France and now living in Portugal. Like all of us here I love motorcycles, have had quite a few, life would just not be the same without them. I started at the age of 14 with my first 50cc moped. Since then I have been lucky to own a long list of motorbikes, from 125s to 1200s, and then down again! I have learned that capacity is not everything. I would rather ride a well tuned 50cc moped than a misfiring superbike... I am a firm believer that one can have fun on any two-wheel, never mind the engine capacity, never mind the bike's image.

I ride a Honda VRF800, a 50cc and a KTM offroad. Portugal is paradise for European enduro riders. We are blessed to be able to ride enduro, across hills etc, quite freely, something that is no longer possible in most other EU countries.

I know Tamil Nadu quite well for having lived a few years there. (Tamil konjam konjam pesuren!)

I look forward to being part of this forum, in some way or the other.

Safe riding all and greetings to all from Portugal

      Welcome aboard Mr.Ganesan
Few of the points that I too believe were...

I am a firm believer that one can have fun on any two-wheel, never mind the engine capacity, never mind the bike's image
And the most envious part is
I graduated in Business Studies, but ended up studying again to become an auto technician, which is what always interested me most. I now work as a metal turner and a motorcycle mechanic
You followed your heart didn't you?

Well, first I'll be visiting friends in Chennai on holiday for a few weeks this coming August. Can't wait
Looking forward to meet you in Chennai; do keep us posted about your visits on Chennai Offline Meet Thread.

Thank you all very much, and thank you aargee for the invite and link. I will be staying with some Tamil friends in Chennai and they are not into bikes, so I might well need some help regarding motorcycle things in Chennai. I'll leave a post on Chennai Offline Meet Thread about that. One thing I would very much like to do whilst in Chennai is visit the Royal Enfield factory, but I haven't done any research about that so I don't know if it's possible yet.

Yes I did follow my heart and started doing what I wanted to do. I'm so pleased I did it. It was a big change for the better, and it happened when I hit 40, so it just goes to show that it's never too late...
