Thankfully I am sure at some point of time you'll stick a DVD in there with all the awesome images/videos and un-edited notes. That will be epic!

The only question is...with SO MUCH material to sift through, I don't envy you guys the task of having to come up with the final version. I am sure every decision to "cut" would have been a really hard one to make.

Didnt like last issue's cover, same for this one too. That man machine theme is ok once, now its stale. + I didnt like the self reference with the xbhp mag in hand either. Feels like you guys are trying too hard to make it look 'good' or differentiate yourself from other mags. Just my opinion.
I liked the first issue cover a lot. Simple and to the point.

Constructive criticism. Good. Design is a very subjective issue. However the man and machine theme is the basis of the whole magazine, the ultimate metamorphosis, something which is so fictitious yet so desirable for the fragile human being. Something which will empower him with power of 100 horses, see in the dark and more.Originally posted by 2strokerama View PostDidnt like last issue's cover, same for this one too. As far as self referencing goes, I dont know if you expected us to hold the Bible or another auto mag in hands for that matter. But yes we do believe that we are good in what we are doing, and proudly so.
And as far as you liking the first cover goes, like I said, everyone's got a different perception, but from the looks of it, lots of people are liking our new cover than not! However, we will try and meet everyone's expectations, not at the same time, but one by one.
Bro, I agree its giving the Cones in the eyes a bit of workout, but worry not, like everything, its a phase.Originally posted by Rune View PostThe cover and now the forum is too much red.

Agreed. Design is subjective. So, from my POV, I dont take the man and machine stuff too seriously(its limited to a fortunate convenience which is also enjoyable among other things for me.....for now) to appreciate the covers(not to mention a disagreement with my sense of aestheticsOriginally posted by Sunny View PostConstructive criticism. ). Though I have to say that the covers are unique but more of a superficial unique....a momentary 'cool' factor which holds no interest after a couple of looks. But I believe there are a few things which hold widespread appeal like say a well shot landscape(ladakh, leh photos look good even if shot while shutters closed
) or a well drawn cartoon\painting or maybe a shot of a racer wrestling to control his machine on a corner......somthing which has enough details either in the picture or the idea behind it to come back again and again. That makes for worthwhile material in my eyes. Again, Im walking on the subjective side but had to say my piece.
I didnt expect you to hold any mag at all....more like I didnt expect you guys to be so serious about yourselves. No doubt its some good work (pride is justified with consistency I feel), but its like some kid trying to look 'cool' on facebook. Anyway, Id better not take this too seriously myself. As far as self referencing goes, I dont know if you expected us to hold the Bible or another auto mag in hands for that matter. That got me a bit surprised, not really mindful though. But, I very much appreciate your initiative to bring out some quality material, the real pulp and possibilities of having a motorcycle beyond specs and showoff.but from the looks of it, lots of people are liking our new cover than not! Thanks for your inputs though, appreciate the time taken and the concern.Originally posted by 2strokerama View PostAgreed. Design is subjective. Good to have some clarifications on what you would have liked on the cover. Let me begin by telling you that we have no dearth whatsoever of 'cool' photos which would befit any motorcycling magazine's cover. One look inside the magazine and we would have no problems in picking up at least 3-4 candidates for a cover worthy shot, but, the big BUT, if we just a take a photo and slap it on there it would not satiate our creative cravings, seriously, how much effort does it take to make a cover these days. Look around . A cut out of the latest superbike, or perhaps a shootout of 125 cc bikes
. Thanks god we didnt get the magazine out when this was supposed to be THE norm rather than today when we are motivated to seek out exceptions creative ones at that.
The whole point is - do we want people to react by seeing a cover which is different or do we want someone to say, 'oh thats a cool cover, nice lean', on a photo which is perhaps shot thousands of miles away and is done to death.

Now, you have told me what you notice on Facebook, i dont know if that a bad thing for us or you.

In creative arts, you can really abstract or go with the mantra, what looks good is good. Mindful it is, but only the right side of the brain.
. BTw, i am curious on the thing in your avatar.

^^^ Sunny, don't even think on these lines!!! There's plenty of auto magazines that make a collage of SBK's, cars & people on the front cover & I simply don't want to see xBhp in the similar lines, especially when, we say this magazine is for life style.Look around . A cut out of the latest superbike, or perhaps a shootout of 125 cc bikes. Well, that was what I was thinking tooOriginally posted by Sunny View PostAs far as self referencing goes, I dont know if you expected us to hold the Bible or another auto mag in hands for that matter. But yes we do believe that we are good in what we are doing, and proudly so.
As far as the cover is concern it stands out best even among the auto magazines available in the market. Most Auto magazines contains "click-edit-paste" cover designs without applying the creative designs like in the 2nd and 3rd xBhp magazine cover.
xBhp with concern to Biking has always tried to do the same thing but in a different approach changing the way biking is in India. Now that it has stepped into magazines, it continues to move ahead with its different approach and style altogether. So, its gonna take time till people learnt to accept changes.
Keep up with the style!
