            • Check list

For the newbie tourers, following are few pointers to prepare yourself for the ride.

              Bike:
Make sure your ride is in proper condition. Make sure your headlights, brake lamps, horn, brakes etc are in proper working condition. Check you air pressure, top up if needed. Fix those RVMs. Have your tool kit in place. If you expect any malfuctions, have the spares ready. eg: headlight bulb, clutch/acc cable etc. Those who have a puncture repaid kit, take it along.

Bring all the bike documents in original. (A set of copies also preferred).

              Gear:
Wear all the riding gears you have. Helmets, jackets, riding pants, gloves, shoes, rain wear etc.

              Yourself:
Being mentally prepared is the best preparation. Be ready to take on the elements, traffic, bad roads etc. If you believe you'll enjoy despite any setbacks, it will be realized.
Dont burden yourself with lots of cloths. For this ride, one set of spare cloths will do. But also, dont go easy on undergarments. Take one or two extra pair, including socks. You never know where you'll get caught in a rain. Talking about rain, have plastic carry bags in which to keep your cloths, mobiles etc.

              Toiletries:
Dont forget to bring atleast your toothbrush. :P I normally carry a toothbrush, small tube of toothpaste, soap, facewash, deo etc.
Also, if needed bring along basic medicines, like for headache, nausea etc.

I dont know what you people are expecting from an offer for off roading......

I think I have a liablity to explain what I have in mind........

We re trying to explore the very important places in Munnar in one day........ Someone who already know abt the places in Munnar can understand the issue with doing this in one day...........
The important places for tourists in Munnare are Mattupetty, Kundala, Top Station, Marayoor, Chinnar, Kanthalloor, and Eravikulam national park......
But the geographical structure wont let us to do these all in one day easily...The first 3 places are in one direction and others are in a different direction (in a V shape)...........Chinnar is somewhat 50-60 kms away from Munnar..........
So as per the roads people take normally, we ll have to travel 60 kms one side to complete one area and then heading to another direction..........
The route will be like this
                        1.Munnar>Eravikulam National Park>Marayoor>Chinnar>kanthalloor (60-70 kms)
                        2.Kanthalloor>Chinnar>Marayoor>Eravikulam National Park>Munnar (60-70 kms)
                        3. Munnar>Mattuppatty Dam>Kundala Dam>Top Station (32 kms)
                        4. Top Station>Kundala Dam>Mattuppatty Dam>Munnar (32 kms)

May be possible but nothing special in it............

So as I was used with during many tours I had, I am proposing another road we can have with..........
Hope we can have an early morning ride in Munnar...........atleast at 6 AM......
                        Munnar>Eravikulam National Park>Marayoor>Chinnar>Kanthalloor>Anamudi Sholai National Park>Kundala Dam>Top Station> Mattuppetty Dam>Munnar...(A Total of 140 kms or less)

In this we re cutting Anamalai Sholai National Park from Kanthalloor to Kundala Dam...and saving around 60 kms.....and The very special part is....
We have to take a forest road.........Just 6 Kms....it may be called an off road or a no road after you have a trip through there........... Only high speed Jeeps and two wheelers can move on the road.... The roads are always changing it s structure; from worse to worst....
To cover the 6 kilometres we may need 1 hour.....but it s cool.......and we can save many hours and Kilometres.

                        This is the suggestion.

Some more pics of the road

@Remi- Let swaroop about this....he ll make a solution for mounting camera on helmet

started riding a motorized cycle on a chetak classic.
Learned to accelerate on Y RX100&135.
Learned not to fall down, the patience to heal wound on knee and to ride long on a classic Pulsar 150(still running)&180.....

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the seat.
