But it feels strange wearing this gear in Ajmer... The jacket looks huge on me, and people stare at me as if I'm some Alien...


By the way, I can join on 10-11th too. My tests/ teaching practicals should be over by then. How about a ride to Bisalpur Dam, the biggest source of Rajasthan's drinking water?

I will be in Jaipur on 8th - 9th and 10th for an official event.

Last Sunday three of us (DeeJay, Ram, Devvrat) had planned for a short ride to Alwar. Devvrat opted out at the last moment , so we were two riders riding to Alwar, who ended up visiting Sariska.

The Route::


Total Kms. Covered:: 260

We started at around 7:30 AMon Sunday, 4th December.

With lots of stops and very relaxed riding we reached Sariska at around 12:30 PM. The initial plan was to continue till Alwar, but we decided to give sariska a try. Entered the Reserve and inquired about the charges and timings. Entry to the reserve would start at 1:00 PM.
Fare and Charges:
Gypsy Rs. 1200/- per trip, Guide Rs. 250/-, Entry fees Rs. 60/- per person
Vehicle entry fees Rs. 300/-
Total impact on the pocket Rs. 2000/-

Unfortunately we were not able to spot a tiger but the park was full of other wild animals and birds.
We were able to click some of them..

Sambhar




We noticed the deers and Sambhar licking the soil. We inquired and got to know that they lick soil so that they can absorb minerals and salts in the soil which keep their stomach in order...strange ways of nature I tell you.

This is an interesting one..there was a male blue bull trying to woo a female and we played spoil sport

Wild Cat
It is said that wild cat sightings are rarer than tigers, we were lucky to have spotted one that too when it was hunting. It was so quick that we managed to click only one picture.


The Jungle Crow
The sweetest sounding crow I have heard..


All over the park there are these cameras installed. They have a sensor which clicks a photograph whenever something crosses them.


These were the hunting shelters that were built by the Maharaja of Alwar. It is said that the sixth maharaja had killed 160 tigers in his lifetime. And today there are only five left in the park.

We started back at around 06:30 and were home by 8:30.
In all a great ride and experience, planning one more trip in January.

Here is small description about sariska :-)
Guys Its was great fun to see the different-different colors of siriska jungle. There r tree in sariska which has name "sirs" , this tree has alots of traditional values. so many years ago sariska name came out frm this tree "sirs" only. people use this tree leafs on festivals like deepawali they put it on the main door as we most of put Ashok tree leafs. according to old stories when ram killed rawan, alots of evil spirits started moving in world . the leafs of "sirs" make them stay away frm their home.
In jungle i found not only different-2 animals even their behaviors also.i cudnt see tiger there.sariska jungle has beautiful tree "dhok" . near by 90% of jungles trees r "dhonk" only.
Sariska was the private property of 5TH Maharajah "Manghal singh" till 1955. after that this place came in indian govrnment. sariska tiger project started in 1977 in the under of Mr. Kailash sankhala. now he has his own jungle safaris & tour company.
i hope you all will like the descriptions so it might help u when u will visit this place :-)

Damn, I missed a great ride. Anyways, given my practicals I couldn't have done much anyways... Got to study hard now! Let's see where the next trip takes us...

Its nice to see Ram bro back on his Ninja again... I think the pics are good but a better camera would have given more opportunities for better pics...

Really? Then come we'll go to RJ to meet our friends DJ, Samarth & others The highways are simply awesome anytime I think about Mt Abu-Udaipur highway, I go crazy over the scenic. Are you ready to ride?
