Yes I was flabbergasted to see that torn - is that what 6K of DSG is worth for? Comparatively my Rjays jacket which I use near about daily for 3 years now is fine.
That's why I say I did a mistake, and if I had bought Rjays pants, needn't have done the above jugaad - it comes stock with it . Looks like Indian brands still have some distance to cover as I see. They are good on paper but real time longevity ??? This is the second incident after crapsters knee guards

But looks like I need to do another jugaad now.

Sorry for the OT guys but it did happen during this G2G so...

Thanks to each and everyone of you for the wonderful comments and liking the log till now. Moving on..

          The Group Ride

Woke up by the call of the fellas in the room in the morning, got up on the bed and here is the scene: half of the janta was still sleeping, where the other half was sitting and chatting about the plan for the day. Needless to say, the sleep was very deep and refreshing, but the moment I saw out of the window, I could see the the sun shining, and yes, there was humidity! Man! I closed my eyes again .

Another 30 minutes and most of the us were ready to go down to the dining hall and meet the biker buddies from Maharashtra and Gujarat and one solo rider from Andhra. Saquib began his tshirt distribution and a session of bakar was running in parallel Some pictures from the breakfast session.

Initially it was decided that we would ride to Jaigad beach (not too far from Velneshwar) post breakfast. However, things were delayed when people started gathering near the beach and got indulged in bakar. Some of us were interested in doing photosession with our steeds on the beach. Two hours well spent i must say, a good way to beat the heat

Time seemed to run fast and we realised the it was time for lunch! Some went back to the resort, took bath and started getting ready for the ride which was planned after lunch, whereas some decided to take a look at the steeds, lube the chain/tighten the chain and make sure the bike is in good shape. By 12:30pm everyone was gathered back at the dining hall.

Around 1:30 pm or so, everyone got ready, geared up for the ride to the Jaigad beach. It was going to be a fun ride for sure, riding alongside immensely experienced riders from both states. We started off slowly from the resort, leading the pack was Biru and tailing was Ashish. The road was dustly all throughout consisting of small uphills, downhills and sometimes it ran along the sea as well. Marvellous sight it was! At one point of the ride, i wished to stay back for couple of more days and explore the places nearby, so much was I tempted by the surroundings. We stopped over at one bridge for a small photosession.

Anyways, moving on, we finally reached the Tavasal Jetty where we had to take a ferry to the Jaigad beach. Things were getting exciting as all the 22 bikes were lines up on the Jetty, waiting to be loaded on the ferry We caught a lot of attention as a lot of confused faces were gazing at the spectacle. Biru took the initiative of paying for the onwards journey on ferry for the entire group. Some pictures which we took on the jetty until the ferry arrived.

                Contd..

When we saw the ferry arriving at a distance, we started preparing ourselves to board the ferry. It was a big ferry though and 22 bikes could have gone easily on it. People around were watching the spectacle when all 22 bikes were being loaded. I went up to the deck to get some pictures of the riders.

A splendid sight aint it? . I ran to the upper most deck to get better sight of all the riders, but unfortunately, nothing was visible from the top. Rather it was a different scenery all together. It goes without saying that I kept on clicking shots after shots. Some of them goes below.

The boat ride lasted for about 30 minutes and we reached Jaigad jetty, unloaded the bikes and lined up for the ride towards the Jaigarh Fort. A short uphill climb of around 10 minutes took us near the fort. The road was under construction and dusty as well. But, who cares . The fort looked pretty old and Biru bhai started giving a small history of it, out of which I was able to hear only few. I was more concentrated on taking a picture of the fort though .

We were about to enter the fort when Shashank raised a concern of his ZMR on reserve and it might not be able to travel more than 10 Kms. Somewhat similar was the situation with the Dukes as well. We were not sure if there was a petrol pump nearby so Saquib decided to scout for one. If he finds one, he would call Sanjoy so that the people who wants to fill up can go for the pump. Once Saquib started off, Sauban and Ashish went ahead to the ZMR to check and his tank. Surprisingly, they both saw the fuel loitering in the tank, so the ZMR was not in that bad a shape. However, to be still on the safe side, I offered some fuel from my bike. Some of us decided to go inside the fort by the time Saquib gives a good news.

I must say that the fort was really beautiful, you could see the vast sea from the fort. The dwindling sun over the horizon made the environment just perfect! And how could I resist to that! Some pictures from inside the fort are as follows.

In the meantime we got the call from Saquib that he was able to local a petrol pump some 15 Kms away from the fort so Sanjoy, Sunil, Bharath, Shashank and Prakash went off to fill up. The riders from the other two states wanted to go to a lighthouse nearby, but the rest of us from Bangalore opted to stay back because we were not happy with the fact that the others from our group especially Saquib was not able to enjoy the place, and was roaming around, searching for fuel for others. We requested the other riders to meet at the Jaigad jetty once they are done visiting the lighthouse. I saw the pictures later from the lighthouse though, and i do regret not visiting that place . Maybe next time .

Anyways, we spent some more time at the fort and made our way to the jetty. It was about 5:30 pm and Sun was on the horizon. Some pictures while we were waiting for the rest.

Few minutes later, the brothers from Maharashtra, Andhra and Gujarat arrived to the jetty, still no sign of the rest of the Bangalore folks. Chatter sessions started as there was still another 1 hour for the ferry to arrive. In the meantime, I called up Sanjoy asking how much more time would it take for the people to arrive because the next ferry was at 7 pm and we had to catch that. I got the news that it might not be possible for the group to reach the jetty by 7 pm, so I requested others to go ahead and book the tickets for the ferry; and we would continue to wait for our folks to come.

Just the moment when the other people were boarding the ferry, our guys reached the jetty. But since we had not booked the tickets, we waited for the next ferry to come. We spent some time doing bakar and eating hot samosas, thanks to Krishwetha . Some pictures which we took at the bakar session.

The next ferry came, we loaded our bikes and went our way back. Travelling in the ferry during the night was a completely different experience. Cool breeze, the sound of waves, made my heart skip a beat. It was an experience which can not be explained in simple words.

Anyways, we unloaded our bikes on the Tavasal jetty and scooted our way back to the resort. 12 machines, vrooming past the dark narrow road seemed majestic and in no time we reached the resort, where the rest of the riders were waiting for us.

Needless to say, the rest of the night was full with fun, with beer and food on the beach, laughs, stories, some crazy moments made the night, a night to remember! We completely lost track of time, it was pretty late (I guess around 12:30 am) when we realized that we need to wake up early in the morning and ride back to Bangalore. Had dinner quickly, and crashed on our beds.
