For lovers, like me, of the blue and white propeller
Hi guys,
A few days ago, I had written to the BMW dealer asking him about the launch of the G650GS and the R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure.
Today, I got a reply plus a phone call from the dealer. He told me this:
1. The 650s would be introduced next year second half. So I still have hopes of owning a blue and white prop yet
2. The price of the R1200GS Adventure minus addons is 17.94 lacs. It comes as a CBU only as of now, hence the high price, more than double the approx USD 16,000= INR 7,82,000. Damn the @#%^&*@ customs
A zipped brochure of the GS and GSA was sent to me. The size is too big to upload here and I do not have accounts on any file sharing servers. Those interested may PM me with their email address and I shall email the brochure to them.
Included below is the reply from the dealer, namely, Navnit Motors Bangalore. The prices are for the models with SATNAV and other addons.
The email:
Dear Sir,
Greetings from BMW-Nanvit motors, Bangalore.Thank you very much for your interest in the BMW.
We consider it a privilege to be of service to you and look forward to a long lasting relationship.
Please find the enclosed attachments of the BMW Motorrad E-Brochure and the price list.
Model: R 1200 GSR 1200 GS Adv
Colour: Magma RedSmoke Grey
Ex-Showroom
Bangalore :19,93,939/-18,82,281/-
Please feel free to call or write to us for further clarification/assistance.

Hey icemang, good to see someone interested in the beemer bikes despite the high customs levied on these absurdly beautiful machines.I ve admired these machines for their radical designs and magnificent performance.Who would say no to an ideal package like this.
BMW has redefined dynamics and the most impressive thing for me in a BMW is the kind of electronics they offer even on the base models.True innovation.
Judging by the tone and the kind of response by the dealers, looks like they are pretty serious about making a mark in this country although the high duties is a downer.Way to go.

Hi fellow xbhpians,
I am really looking forward for roadtrip of a lifetime...Pune to Leh 2012 May(end)-June.
As of now, we are two riders, who have already started preparing for the ride, if someone wants to join in, please do, most welcome.
Reading tons of blogs, reading xbhpians Leh ride logs (Vishwas Sir, Ketan R15 n Mandar, Sachin n group, Rachit n group, Mik...and many more) and make as many notes as possible for the roadtrip. (Now-a-days I do less work in office and keep reading all these logs and make notes
). Thanks Icemang for the 2012 Leh planner thread. I am also glued to it.
Unfortunately, I have never attended any weekly G2G due to office timings
and busy schedule (also my laziness
), but I am trying and will try to meet you guys more frequently to download all your experiences and suggestions.
Please pour in your experiences, suggestions, views, etc. (all the graduates from Khardung La valley
and other xbhpian's)
Will be grateful. Thanks all.
Getting ready to get Leh'd.Last edited by Sumit_B; 10-09-2011, 10:21 AM.sigpic

You are welcome, Sumit. The trip is on, the dates are, as you will agree, tentative owing to those of the passes opening. Did you check my Excel sheet?Originally posted by Sumit_B View PostHi fellow xbhpians,

Like I said, the customs are !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*. Let us hope that the G 650GS gives some competition to the N650 and Hyosung 650 though I anticipate that it would be about 7 or 8L especially due to above mentioned !@#$%& customs
Will keep you posted here on further developments.
