First Official XBHP Ride report
One fine Monday morning I get a FB message from an old acquaintance. Ive seen this guy around in my old college and know his name and all, but that is all. Guy asks me if I am enthusiastic about riding, and I am like hell yeah! Thats when he, Jitu, asks me if I am on xBhp. Next thing he does is add me to the xBhp Nagpur whatsapp group. I just know him in the entire group. But there is something about us motorcyclists and especially xBhpians, you dont need introductions at all. You know if a person is a fellow xBhpian, you automatically have ALOT in common. Thus, I gel in pretty well within the first few minutes itself. There was an ongoing discussion regarding a group ride and I was the probably the last one to join the group. Fast forward 6 days and we all are eagerly awaiting the next morning, the day we ride. I had already washed my Duke and filled her up, all set to go.

Ride: Nagpur-Paoni Fort-Gosekhurd Dam-Nagpur
Distance: 220Kms round trip
It was a pleasant morning. At around 6:30AM I reached Zero Mile, our meeting point. Zero Mile is considered as the geographical center of India, and symbolically it was a great place to kick off the series of riding adventures all of us will be having.
Ayush @Ayush41193 ) was already waiting for me on his 200NS. We exchanged introductions since none of us had seen the other. Soon Ayush( @ayu135 ) joined us on his Duke 390 sporting an awesome Alpine star riding jacket. Soon after Rohit( @tripster ) arrived thumping, with his partner on an immaculate Bullet. Rohit was the most experienced rider of our group and arrived all packed and dressed up for his ride to Western Ghats with his wife. Rohit would be starting this journey with the xBhp group. And in a few minutes Jitu ( @Jitu Gadkari ) arrived with his brother on an Avenger.
Jitu was yet to arrive when this picture was taken.
At 7:30 the ride started. The roads were lovely and the three nakeds and the Avenger were having a blast keeping at least a steady 80kmph. The bullet seemed to be lagging but I believe the riders were having no less fun (Right Rohit?
). At around 9 we reached Paoni and rather disappointingly, the supposed 17th century fort was nothing but a wall. Still, the ride up till here made up for it. However this was where Rohit was supposed to set out on his own. We bid adieu to the lone bulleteer in our group and surged ahead to Gosekhurd hoping the dam would be better than Paoni.
Thankfully, it was a whole lot better.
The Dam had 33 gates (Counting of which gave some members a headache)
From Left to Right: Me, Ayush, Ayush, Jitu
We started back from Gosekhurd at 12. The ride back was rather dull, due to heat and the constant feeling that the awesome time was about to end. Nevertheless we maintained decent speeds thanks to a relatively empty four lane highway. We stopped for fuel and some men came and inquired about the dukes enthusiastically. Me and Ayush were showered with words of wisdom and what not
.
We reached Nagpur by 1:30 and had awesome South Indian food at a local eatery. By 2:15 we all went on to our homes, to continue with our routine lives. What I found on that day were 4 new friends, 4 close friends and an amazing memory.
PS: Shoutout to Nikhil pacificwaters [I hope I got your handle correct] who couldn't be with us on the ride since he was supposed to start for his bullet ride from Nagpur to Bhutan!
More (and better) pictures will follow this post soon enough.
Thanx for reading.Last edited by hardashh NGP; 10-16-2014, 05:21 PM.Regards,

Re: First Official XBHP Ride report
The most experienced was actually Jitu Gadkari and I was the oldest, that day
as @pacificwaters (Nikhil) was preparing for Bhutan. He is actually both in our group. I left in a hurry that day. Waiting for a long ride with you guys. Most probably when Nikhil returns so that we can hear all about the Druk Kingdom
One life to ride....

Re: First ride of Xbhp Nagpur
Jitu Gadkari: nope dude, I'm from Bombay. My wife's been transferred to Nagpur AG's Office, so I would be in and out of Nagpur frequently. hardashh NGP: Don't think I would be able to make it this Sunday. Most prolly will be in Nagpur from 28th only for shifting and buying school stuff for the kids.
But the transfer's for about a year, so will definitely get in touch
cheers!!------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
