        • I guess I am the first one to write here after yesterday's grand celebration.. Cool...
          All I can say is..
HELMETS OFF TO ALL OF US..HELMETS OFF TO THE SPIRIT OF XBHPIANS...TRULY AMAZING...

One more time I've experienced this and was truly amazed by it. What a head count. That too in that sort of rain. Amazing is the only word I can say... Everyone reached at the venue facing hundreds of problems, fighting the rains, drenched wet but still no one really showed it on their face. Everyone was laughing and greeting each other upon meeting. Infact everyone was sharing their problems and we were finding laughter in even that. Wow...

But what a rain.. whew.... It was pouring... Sorry for all the guys who left from their homes and couldn't make it to the venue..specially Calvin urf Kalyan..Ashish's small bro Anirude..Atul and so on..

Am sure everyone out there has a story to tell bout the problems they faced and how eventually they made it to the point.. But here's my share of experiences that I had..right from when I left my home till I got back home. This aint a triplogue actually but just what Ajinkya and I had to go thru to reach the Dhaba..

Well as decided I was supposed to come with Ajinkya to the venue by his car. We were gonna meet Chav ladka and the rest of the group under the Airoli bridge and then carry on to Eternity Mall.

Sion route being our routine we had clear idea bout the traffic and hence Ajinkya and I decided to leave a bit early to avoid being late. I left from my place at around 6.00pm by taxi to get to Ajinkya's place. Reached there right in time and Ajinkya was waiting for me opposite Parsi Gymkhana on the highway. Highway was already jam packed. Bumper to bumper to traffic. But aisa scene toh hamesha hi rehta hai so we did think much on it and were moving ahead at snail's speed listening to the mild songs. It took us around 30 minutes to cover the distance till Maheshwari which otherwise will take no more than 5 minutes.

Just as we were there it started raining like hell. All we were hoping that there shouldn't be water logged under the famous King Circle Bridge. Bloody hell..why isn't it take care of if every year there's water logging. Post Maheshwari udyan, the traffic was literally at a stand still for several minutes. No idea bout what's going on ahead and no way to return(as it was a one way) we had no choice but to seat patiently. Slowly slowly the cars were moving ahead and everyone was eager to get into the right most lane(which up ahead becomes an elevated lane a few feet above the normal road). But that lane was already full and not a single car was moving. We decided to carry on in the lane we were(no other choice of course). As we moved a bit ahead, we saw first sign of water on the road.

We knew we into deep shit and gotta get outa this anyhow. I asked Ajinkya to be in the right most lane or at max the second lane just in case if the vehicle in front of us stalls. All of sudden we found our car in waist height water. Ajinkya was constantly revving the car..very hard revving. We got kinda stuck in the lane as one by one vehicles in front of us were stalled. No space to reverse we had to wait till we get some space. Total chaos. We were hyperalert at that time.. Ajinkya's face was worth seeing..and so was mine. Somehow the bus behind us moved a bit and we got some space to pull our car out into the other lane and that's when 2-3 huge(*uckin huge) buses and dump trucks passed by in full speed creating huge(I REALLY MEAN HUGE) waves in that waist height water. The current was so strong that our car literally floated on the water - was lifted up and thrown sideways into the other lane - the right most lane just inches away from a wall. Had it been a little more the entire right side would have been history. Mind you guys, that's just a few months old car. Fortunately it didnt happen.

But wht happened was those waves got inside the car and there was water all over inside the car rill knee height. Even worse, the engine started to die. We were panicked now and wanted to get out of that very soon. I asked Ajinkya to just pull the car into middle lane and push it ahead revving hard. That lane was empty coz of the height of water. Somehow we moved ahead and what we saw was SUVs like Honda CRV were stalled in the lane we were and that's y we were stuck. Ajinkya wanted to pull the car on that elevated lane to get out of water but insisted him to keep moving in the same direction. I was aware that this water logging's gonna end soon. Had we gone to that elevated lane, we would have never made it to the g2g.

By the time we managed to get out of the water, it was all confusion and chaos. People around us pushing their cars..bikers falling down..our car's auto cop started shouting and all the blinkers were flashing.. knee deep water in the car..that too bloody gutter water..yuck..

We crossed the Sion signal and stopped for a breather expecting the water inside the car to get out of the same way it came in. But it didnt wanna go out. The first thing we wanted to do was to get that autocop shut off. It would have drained the bettery otherwise + it was screaming like hell. Ajinkya tried to cut the wire but with nothing to cut it he couldnt do it.

He was bloody frustrated and wanted to head back home seriously. He was scared as it was his mom's car. But I knew that it was the last point where there's water logging, rest of the highway is usually all clear. I somehow cheered him up and asked him to move ahead. Arre itna g@nd mara ke idhar tak aye.. ghutno tak pani mein baithe hai..toh wapas jake kya fayda? I assued him that there wont be waterlogged ahead and we moved ahead. Stopped at a petrol pump. Got a knife from a fruitwala and cut the autocop wire. whew..that irritating sound was finally off. Then we started to get that water out of the car by our hands. Yuck..We working like labourer. Managed to get some water out of the car and we decided to move ahead.

All this while Mastermind was calling me again and again and again and again.... as he was supposed to accompany us from ghatkopar. Arre yaha pe khud ki khujane ko bhi time nahi hai toh phone kaha se uthau? I disconnected the phone once - twice but he kept on calling. He wanted us to pick him up from his building as he said the cake will get wet. But seeing at our condition we were frustrated and we were asking him to come onto the highway by auto. He kept on insisting and we had no choice but to go to his place. In that haste my cell fell into the water inside the car. ****. I was scared. But it worked. Nokia hai na.. finally with some misunderstanding with roads we picked him up.

Those 2 hours were horrible. Rest everything went smooth and we finally reached Eternity at around 9pm. The group was waiting with lotsa new faces.

Then the rest of the chaos..dhaba venue changed..half the people didnt know the place..half the people were still to reach..Gosh..

Finally finally we reached Kinara and then the fun part started..Had gala time.. Can't forget the live performers at the hotel

Left the dhaba at around 2.00-2.15 if am not wrong. Reached home at 3.00am. Gosh..what a g2g.. grand by all means..

Wish xBhp many many more such Anniversaries and wish we all stay connected the same way. Three cheers to the spirit of x-Men...Kudos..

That, I am sure must be sad to see...fallen bikes and deserted cars...

The civic authorities must be sued and made to pay for this financial damage to the common man's wallet.
