damn the traffic at gurgaon road...it took the same amount of time to come out of the traffic, which I took to come from the place where we stopped, to gurgaon

9th sep 2004 , 9pm
i was alone at home. it was drizzling and only 10 hours had left for xbhp's royal g2g.. i kept going out n checkin the weather.. finally it stopped. to be double sure , i checked once again at 1:30 n only then went off to sleep.

so.. the day came.. to show the true colors of XBHP. it was 6:55am when me along with 3 zmas and a f2 arrived at the lane. slowly slowly more bikers came n we were 15 bikes. wow , quite a nice turn-around. my zma's exhaust was smokin!! actually my exhaust was replaced a day b4 the ride.. i think the new paint must be burnin off or the mechanic must hv applied some oil in order to put the round covering on top of the main exhaust pipe..that oil must be burnin off..

so we started our ride with a nice formation at around 7:45am. the air was cool and the traffic was starting to build up and we were a sight on the road. i was at the front with ashu n nishu (pillion with cam). the sight of bikers in a nice formation in my rear-view mirror was awesome. (see d above pics)
we stopped at "shiv-murti" petrol pump-cum-eating joints market to tk some batteries and to meet 6 other bikers. but they didnt turn up (dey joined in b4 sohna chownk) so we started again but then the 1st "thing" of the day happened. ashu's zma had a flat.here anuj joined in with his fully faired zma with 120 rear n nice clip ons. by the time we started again it was around 9am..


soon b4 the sohna chownk , 5 more bikers joined in with vikroma. so we were now 21 bikes and 28 bikers all in a grp on the highway i had got my whistle along and was whistling like a cop to every trucker i was overtaking to give side so that the whole grp cud pass. soon i got the name "hawaldar" !!

we took a small stop for pics but here sumanyu tried out a nice high wheelie on his zma but he didnt notice that a cbz was comin from behind. the cbz did stop but as the rear wheel of sumanyu's bike came down,it hit the cbz's front wheel n as a result sumanyu feel down.. we advised him to lie down for a while after which we continued the ride.

had breakfast at a typical truck dhaba where the "aloo curry" was the best dish. we ordered 12 dal,8 matar-panner , 8 aloo curry !! but we were hungry n the dishes disappeared fast. i climbed up a truck to take the pics of the line-up

b4 we cud leave , it started raining!! we waited for like 30 mins and as soon it slowed, we departed doin 65-70. neemrana was only 14kms away. the last 2 kms pass thru the village. b4 the village is a girls hostel

the village roads were in a mess due to rains.. soon we reached the fort. 22 decided to go in while 6 others went to check out the baoli , a step-well.

i must say this has been the best resort/fort/ruin i have ever seen. its huge,its awesome,its majestic,its beautiful.. its built on a hill and the view one gets from the top is breath-taking.. i really advise other xbhpians to go there once. room rates vary from 1000-12000. lunch n dinner are buffets (450+taxes each)

took lots of pics , sneaked out 3 bisleris and couple of cold drinks from the numerous fridges in the fort!! donno y they had so many fridges all over the fort!!

by 2:45pm we were out of the fort n den took a diversion to check out the baoli. then we hit the road by 3:30 but then is when our troubles started. the 2nd "thing" of the day happ when a cbz had a puncure. the whole pack had gone ahead leaving 7 of us in the rains! the cbz guy managed to drive app 5kms b4 we found a puncutre.we were all wet and it was a bit cold too. we ordered tea n biscuts. 3 more bikers came back n joined in. then the 3rd "thing" happened.as sunny was ripping kunal's rx100 , the throttle wire ripped! it got jammed. then the 4th "thing" happened , vikroma n the puncture wala got into an argument. he was puttin bad punctures n the air was leaking even after 4 punctures!! soon tempers rose and these village ppl can be a real pain in the ass. neways i pulled vikroma out and the verdict was reached. we continued our ride with delhi still app 100kms away with the roads wet.

vikroma towed (pushed) kunal's rx100. after some kms , we caught up with 2 more bikers but den we found out that the tyre leaked again!!! so from here on , we formed 2 grps. one with me , kunal,sunny,draz and the other with the cbz,vikroma and his frenz (i guess all from faridabad side). reactor and rajazz deciced to leave coz dey were gettin late. from here sunny n me took turns to push kunal's bike till dharuhera , app 30 kms away!! what a work-out we gave our right legs! we kept pushin him at 50-60kmph.. by the time we found the shop , it was around 6pm.. n delhi was still 70kms away.

had gaon ki tikkis from a chat wala.. continued our ride at 7:12pm.. then we ripped at 90-95 in the dark. the final "thing" happened near gurgaon when a caliber suddenly came out of an intersection.me draz were doin something like 80kmph n had to brake real badly to avoid d bike. we 4 cornered him and his fren on a rx135 joined him.. we kept cornering them but den decided to leave dem n continued. at gurgaon , sunny took a right for mehrauli and kunal decided to put up in gurgaon instead of goin to def colony.

i and draz rode together till janak puri where i took a diversion for paschim vihar.. reached my place at 8:36..

things noticed in this g2g:
-the formation thing worked out nicely this time
-although bikers kept ripping in b/w to check out their top ends and to drag with fellow riders ,dey did so for 3-4kms and then again used to form a grp. this was a nice thing. appreciated :-)
-if it rains , drivin in a wet tshirt in mid oct on an open highway can be chilly!!
-pushin a 100kg bike with a 65kg person can give out a work-out to ur leg
-do tk ur chick once to neemrana , if possible , for a night
-while comin back , coz ppl r generally tired , 3-4 grps should be formed and a grp or two can drive away fast if that grp wants to get back home early. a rider shd avoid drivin back alone..
-rx100 can kick a cbz!!!!!!!! atleast upto 80-85
-in the under seat storage of zma , there is a place for keeping 2 cell-phones in rains. the small compartment closes with a lid so that no amt of dust/water can get there

hi guys i missed the G2G. my ZMA is injured. I was feeling a bit of wobbling on the back side of the bike and i knew it was not a good idea to drag it in this condition. The company has told me that the Swingarm Axle shaft has to be replaced ... even though it is under warranty but still i feel that the swingarm axle shaft if one of the strongest part of the whole body. and it has generated a play. the will be replacing it today though ...

did any of you have such a prob with your ZMAs ... please let me know ...

guess what all is gonna happen to my bike today ...

1. Handle bar was not straight ( Bunny knows it ! )
2. Engine is giving a funny noise ... they say i am imagining it ...
3. Gear Oil Seal has busted... replacement ...
4. Tire Wobbling ... replacement of Swingarm Suspension Shaft
5. Rear Brake Shoes replacement (only after 4700 Kms ... just imaging ! )
6. battery water top up and charging ( even though i have no extra accessories )
7. my Carb ( or whatever ) gasket is leak and will be replaced ...
8. Re-Alignment of wheels !

seems like my bike's in a lot of **** ...
any comments guys ...

i went to gurgaon with my gf on bike... on returning saw one of the xbhpian near abt 6:30 or something and it really feels good to know tht such a long g2g was without accidents.. thanx to lord.. and guys keep it up it was a good g2g.. and bunny bhai u said coming up soon : THE VALLEY G2G!! wats tht... kya pak raha hai mind mein.. bata bhai...

Good write up bunny..sorry guys, couldnt stay back as I had some urgent work to do...good things got sorted out. Kunal, I hope ur bike's as good as new now...well, as new as it can be anyway!!
But most guys missed the part at the baoli where 4 of the 6 of us atleast went down the steps and then relaxed at top of the well. All that mud splashing really made me want a MX bike!!
What happened to Vikroma and gang..guys, write in...
@ Sagi...at abt 6:30 it oculd have been either me or reactor...his is a cbz, mine a p150.

yup ..got my bike fixed properly today... put in another throttle cable thats 2 cables within 24 hrs lol
@ draz ,sunny ,Bunny - Yamaha cable ds really cost 180 buks ..lol threw the other one away.. didnt trust it..
