@Ken: Thanks, yes the rules are always followed. We keep our documents, and basic riding gears are made compulsory, and it goes without saying so everyone usually complies.

@Reuterian: Most of the guys arent active on the forum. about 40% of the above are. So i happen to organize all our g2gs in the city offline as they arent very active here. And the list was done by personal contact. Some were interested in having this posted here so i made the thread. Now what remains to be seen is how many actually show up on the day. The actual turn up has always been a problem here. So i'm hoping things go as expected above Although the Jawa day ride happened better than expected. I have similar expectations but since its a saturday many seem to have their own plans so lets see.

@John: Here everyone says they will come and no one turns up :P Anyway our regular group will be coming so it'll be a good ride with some good friends. Numbers dont matter just the spirit to ride.

@Abhi: My bike as you know it is gonna be home. The work is still not done. Just about 30% done. Will re-assemble the bike by sunday evening at home i guess I.e if i get the stuff by sunday. The other two bikes are also not available as one dad will be using and my Jawa wont make the distance Even if i finish the work overnight the assembling will take some time so Storm wont be riding tomorrow... Anyway i'm gonna be on Nit's Thunderbird so will be riding after all tomorrow. And worst case pillion :P

Dude, tomorrow will be fun. We have our regular group with us and ones we were all expecting to come have confirmed. So lets just enjoy what we have at hand. What say?

Man, it would be cool to ride a stripped down bike. Hehe Its open space up front But anyway im riding the TB or pillion Ciao!

The ride turned out pretty good. The turnout was 16 people on 9 bikes.

The riders who made it on the day are as follows:

                          1. Abhishek Murudeshwar riding ZMA + his friend riding pillion with him
                          2. Rajat riding RX100 + Siddharth riding pillion with him.
                          3. Nitish riding his Thunderbird TS + Vivek riding pillion with him
                          4. Sunny Jackson riding Pulsar 180 + Meghan (me) riding pillion for the first half and riding Nitish's Thunderbird on the way back.
                          5. Irfan riding his Avenger 180 + Sony riding pillion with him.
                          6. Abhay riding his Honda Dio
                          7. Siddanth riding his CT 100
                          8. Dhanush riding his ZMA + Ganesh riding pillion with him
                          9. Tejas riding his Suzuki GS150R + Akshay riding pillion with him.

Me (R15), Siddharth (Honda Dio), Vivek (Hunk), Ganesh(RTR 160) didnt have our rides with us on the day.

Siddharth and I have stripped our vehicles completely and didnt have a ride on the day and rode pillion. I couldnt risk taking my "73 Jawa and dad was using the Discover on the day.

Nevertheless the ride turned out to be good and we managed to enjoy it.

The road was excellent owing to the 4 laning of the stretch from Mangalore to Surathkal. The road switches back and forth between bad to worse and gets better from Padubidri which is about 15kms from Kaup.

Our destination Kaup beach is a rocky beach with a Lighthouse. Beautiful place with shacks and bar. Owing to the rainy season the water level had risen considerably. On earlier occasions one could climb the rocks on the beach, but it was made impossible this time around. The beach packs some great views and the last time i was there in June there were some guys going trigger happy with their DSLRS and tri-pods. Overall a great place to chillout. We've had a major g2gs here before.

One of the G2Gs that i recollect was a Mangalore-Manipal inter-city Get-Together. This was when Mangalore xBHP rode to Manipal and then after lunch we all rode down to Kaup beach in a 2x2 formation. There was some 25bikes and 35+ guys on that day and it was some 3 years ago! One of the best g2gs ever.

The ride on Saturday started from HP Petrol bunk at ladyhill at 3PM. And everyone was there by 2.45PM.

We had a couple of pitstops on the way and managed to reach Kaup Beach by 4.30.

We stayed for an hour and left for Mlore by 5.30PM. We climbed the rocks at the beached but preffered not to go up the lighthouse.

Reached Mangalore by 6.40PM and departed after a short photosession.

                          Total riding distance was ~100kms.

Overall it was a good ride with some good old and new friends and i had a good time riding pillion with Sunny and being trigger happy .
The ride was comfortable on the P180 even with the bad roads and Sunny being a very good rider managed to avoid the bad sections of the road. Almost ran over a Rat-Snake when it was crossing the road, while we were trying to avoid the bad sections, but saved its life

Enjoyed riding the Thunderbird on the way back and managed to hit 120Kph (speedo) on a decline on the 4lane section nearing Surathkal. I've ridden it a lot on earlier occasions. It wasnt very comfy. TBTS on earlier occasion managed to give me a lower back ache on bad roads and highspeeds. This time it gave the same treatment to both the rider and the pillion. Anyway i enjoyed the ride.
Love the torquey nature of things and it pulls hard.

Nitish managed to pop a wheelie with a pillion on the TBTS on way to the beach. The amount of torque available makes it real fun sometimes!

Thanks to everyone who made it on the day. I hope you guys had a good time yourself.

                          Cheers!

P.S. Pics will be up soon.
