I thought about this weekend and this is what I have come up with.

I have dropped all the initially planned destination.Igatpuri was my first choice but to reach Igatpuri I have to travel around 300+km from Satara(one way) and with my back in really bad shape I don't think it will be a great idea to do 700odd kms.
Final selected destination:Bhimashankar
Around 200kms from Satara.

Here is my plan:Reach Bhimashankar by Sat night.Sunday morning=Roaming+Photography.Start for Thane/Panvel around 1.00p.m and reach there by 4.00p.m.Meet Mumbai xBhpians and share Diveagar pictures and start for Satara by 7.00p.m(I don't want to ride till 1.00a.m every other weekend)

Now I have few questions:-
1)What will be best place to meet?Thane or Panvel?
2)From Bhimasankar is there a short cut to Thane or I have to go all the way to Kalyan and then come back towards Thane?

P.S:The above mentioned plan depends upon the fact that my back is in rideable condition by coming weekend.As of now its in pathetic shape.

**Panvel Only, it'll take longer time for us to ride from west, but as you'r coming from a ride we can discount you for a lil more effort. So PANVEL!
***Hope your back gets well soon, try this:
Apply SLOAN's balm 2 times a day, dont rub, just apply & kepp it COVERED. Thodi jalan hogi but it'll help. & keep a relispray with you while riding, it helps alottt.

Back in really bad shape and Bhimashankar ..Wicked combination...
Am sure u must be aware but the roads aren't good...Atleast when i went there a few years ago..they were in pathetic condition..We went there by car and it felt like road to hell...After sometime one gets bored riding at 20s and 30s on that long ghat. Also this isn't the proper season to visit to Bhimashaknar as someone earlier had also said. But for photography it's ok..

As far as my knowledge goes, there are only 2 routes m aware of. One is via Nagar road all the way from Kalyan to Thane.

And the other one, which is a small road, but takes you to a place called Chowk on Mumbai Pune highway just a few kms away from Panvel. From there one can go to Panvel in another half n hour or so.

The thane kalyan route is the route.From panvel you only go upto kandas near karjat.from there it's a 6 hr climb and meant for trekking.
I think the roads are now a improved lot for past twoyears but haven't been by road so can't really help.

Awesome Ketan....Love you for that..mast hai...never imaged that seeing videos in youtube of people ripping their bikes for speed run we would also do the same one day.....feels gr8 Man need a 600now

& rachit kuch speed run nahi tha yaar..Humne toh apne khud ke best times bhi nahi achieve kiye...but it was fun all the same ..shooting & chatting & eating misal pav afterwards..
