Default Pouring kerosene in Silencer??

Just the other day I went with my friend to a local garage for tightening his his bike's chain(rtr 160). After the work was done that mechanic, on his own poured some kerosene in the silencer (from silencer's outlet hole) & started the bike. When I asked him the reason for pouring the kerosene into the silencer, he said it will prevent the rusting of the silencer? Is this true? Will this help in cleaning the silencer from inside by any means? Or will this cause any damage to the silencer? Though the bike is running perfectly fine now, I just want to know from experts here what will happen by doing this.

never heard of it.
May damage the cat-con, will can cause more carbon buildup.
Btw, no need to clean the silencer in 4 strokes.

Kerosene will evaporate after the silencer becomes hot, that's what'll happen.

Kero will soak into the glass wool/steel wool insulation, excess will drip out the drain hole. When the bike is started the kero will evaporate.
I hope you didn't pay for this nonsense.
If your mech does crap like this I think its time to find a new mech.

Maybe he (the mech) wanted a flaming exhaust.

He forgot one major step, to insert a burning beedi in the silencer after putting the kerosene. Then you would have seen what he meant by a 'fiery performance'!

Change the mech
