My P 220 Fi normally gets serviced at PBK Vizag, but the bike is presently nearing 20 K Km on the odo, i decided to get the Throttle body, injector cleaning and de-carbonizing of head and piston and some misc works, as the bike is very sluggish and after 4K rpm its like something obstructing the inlet and exhaust and the bike vibrating like hell. It struggles to sustain speeds above 75-80 kph.

Service at PBK Vizag is ok but depending on the criticality of the work to be done, I decided to ride 1000+KM round trip from Rajahmundry to Hyderabad and back last week, had a brief talk with Probiker (Prabhakar) on the previous day, started off from Rajahmundry at 11:00 AM expecting to reach HYD by 6 PM, but the road conditions after Vijayawada to Suryapet didn’t permit me to sustain high speeds, so reached HYD by 8:00 PM., called Prabhakar and we decided to start the job tomorrow.

I reached the workshop by 10 AM and Prabhakar is already there by the time, and the mechs opened the Throttle body, injector & head under the supervision of Prabhakar, all these parts were coated with black sticky grease like substance inside which is due to adulterated fuel in my area (they even adulterate the high octane fuel, Power/extra premium ) so this is the main culprit for drop in performance of my engine.

Sent the Head to machine shop which specializes in cleaning of ports/inlets/valve guides. The Injector and Throttle body was personally cleaned by Prabhakar with 3M Throttle plate & intake cleaner, u can see the before and after pictures of the parts, how effective the 3M Throttle plate & intake cleaner is. Meanwhile the mechanics attended to the misc jobs like De-carbonizing of Piston, replacing a headlight bulb, chain maintenance & fairing vibes & rattles were fixed with double sided tape. The head arrived the next day fully cleaned. Fitting of head, Throttle body and injector started, and the bike was ready by 3 PM. 1.2 liters of Motul 300 V goes in before a test ride by prabhakar and my self, we felt that the bike is completely different, pulling cleanly throughout the revs and its more rev happy now.

Quality of the work done is top notch and I sincerely felt that the 1000 Km trip for the service is definitely worth.

Started from HYD by 4PM and reached Rajahmundry at 2 AM.
