I'm planning on buying a cbr1000rr c-abs in a month so i'm doing alot of research on the pros and cons and i found a problem similiar to yours being reported by owners all over the world!
Are you sure its due to heating??
Is your abs failure light flashing??
From what you've described, your riding in traffic and followed by parking and then when trying to switch it on, the battery seems to be drained and dead!
This being my first post, i dont know if i'm violating any rules by posting a link of another forum but just trying to help you out so here goes
C-ABS issues - Page 12 : Honda CBR 1000RR Motorcycle Forums: 1000RR.net

2010 cbr1000rr Fireblade ABS Question

try reading through the above forums and you'll figure out what the problem is! honda japan have officially sent this email to an owner who's experiencing the same problems as you...

After many calls to Honda Japan and Europe to find out what is wrong they came back with this explanation:

"Below 6mph the ABS is active, but not calibrated - once you go over 6mph, the system does all its checks and self diagnosis etc.
When you drop down below 6mph, to park for example, the system cannot self diagnose itself. This causes a problem when you need to get the bike into a tight parking spot or awkward garage where you may go in and out a couple of times to get the angle right.
As the front and rear wheels are moving at different speeds when you turn the bars back and fourth, it tricks the system into thinking a wheel needs ABS pressure and therefore applies a little power where it thinks it needs it. This is not noticeable when you are moving it around.
However, even AFTER you cut the ignition, the system stays active and drains your batt in 30 mins"

i maybe wrong but its worth a try reading through those forums!

happens to all the bikes all the time depending on the use.
Traffic = battery killer

  1. Remove daylight headlamps coupler
  2. Dont switch the engine off at red signals.
  3. If the battery is down just push the bike to anything above 8 kmph and chug the bike into 2nd gear. Voila !
Happened to me once on the blade...rode heavily thru traffic...parked for 20 mins...got back to greet a dead battery.

Getting in touch with Honda guys in Japan will result in nothing. They know this happens and expect u to know it too.

SBKs and their shortcomings...never buy one

Finally i am getting my bike back today.
they have had it all this while and the final verdit.
they say that the RR (and lots of people had thier money on it) is not really faulty but might be cutting of the voltage a bit below the charging voltage required on full load. Although it is as per the book...
So they have changed the RR and now its voltage cut off is a bit higher , that would charege the battrey.
will pick it up today evening i have my fingers crossed.

@crazy_NJ good to know someone else is also hade similar issue, the guys here at honda do not seem to have an idea that this is expected behaviour of the bike and are rahter concerned. thanks for the advice i never switch off teh engin at traffice light just for the fear that it may not start again and sadly i have not been able to push start the bike once the battrey is dead, the entier electronics go crazy when its low light flashing funny clicking sound engine tacho needle keep swinging.
i want to disconnect the headlight but i will wait till the warrenty is over befor i pull out the coupler and replace with a switch. Till then as long as Honda is nice enought to recover the bike from where ever it dies i am ok with it... thank god for such excellent warrenty support and cooperation by Honda.

@therealabhinav thanks for the link intresting thing to lookout for. but i have never had any problems with abs the light has never flashed.

@bikemanic i would love to do that sadly the NH8 at 6 in the evening does not let you ride anything more than 20kph , and yes i have considered cooking my dinner on the way home on the bike's frame

If the explanation given by therealabhinav is right, then probably they can put an extra switch by which battery can be cut from ABS system or anything else so it wont be used unnecessarily.

Just a wild suggestion!

Default 3rd service 12 months 6500Km

so finally got the third service and guess what the labor rates have gone up.
so now Rs2600 for service charges another Rs750 for wash and polish, plus the regular oil and filter another 1600 plus tax
Total costing Rs 4800.

My tyre has started showing flattening on the rear wheel. getting to be time to change soon, brake pad front are also aproaching the wear indicator.
Next service is goning to be a pricy thing will start saving up.

I have started to notice a significant increase in vibrations on the seat while riding at 7K-9K RMP.

Hmmm... Nice to know the bike's done 6.5k. Post some recent pics and videos!

But the tire isn't worn is it? Its just squaring off? Man, pricy things SBKs...

About the vibes, maybe a couple of bolts need torquing.
