hi bunny, congrats on the fast 2000km mark. i agree on a slighltly softer suspension settings for Indian roads.
even my 954 gets pretty hot, and i have also heard 09 r1 does get very hot due to it's underseat exhaust, i wonder how it will feel in Indian conditions.

yes i bought my helmet online website like newenough and extremsupply have a chart for various brands sizing . You measure by wraping an inchi tape around your forehead - my size came to 55.5cm which corresponded to HJC small size for 55-56cm and it fits perfectly dont have any problems of course they are tight at the cheeks but you get use to it in a weeks time.
rember each brand has its own size defination so do check those out.

            chain cleaning

so i finally got my hand on OKS producst in Noida thanks to Archit.
the OKS 2601 cleaner and degreaser is a very expensive option to clean a chain and not very effective on a full grime but really excellent for brakes (tried it on my P220 brake pads the brakeing feels like new, i have become a big fan of this magic product)

opened the chain cover since i dont have a paddock stand
so i use lots of kerosene to clean the chain and remove the muck using a soft paint brush(house painting type)
rolled the bike a bit to clean the other side
            dried it off with cloth
gave one spray of OKS cleaner
finally one coat of OKS 451 o-ring chain lube intresting foaming sticky substance,
rolled the bike back and forth a few time to even out the coat as it take about 5-10 min to dry
and i was ready to go.

              problems continue with battrey

He just wanted to update unfortunate events.
The battrey failed again for no apparent reason.
same symptom bike parked after ride on 50 km form gurgaon to noida kept for 6 hr and did not start battrey low this was on 18 jan , this time the bike had done 2800Km. thas over 2000km with the new battrey installed
the chaps from honda came checkd every parameter giving in the book, volatage , resistance of coil, rectifier. nothing-- all is withing specification.
they charged the battrey and it works after that.
the biggest problem is now that of reliablity , i never know when it would just die, it does it without a warning...plus i havent been able to push start the bike succesfully.

hi bunny, if battery is completely dead FI does not work hence push start dosen't work either. same thing happened with my bike and had to change the stator, maybe something with hondas.

I am not very sure on this but push starting the bike might create more problems.
The appropriate power to all the sensors will not be reaching when you push start which in turn might be harmful. And also it might damage the sensors.

if done rarely and only in emergencies, push starting the bike should not damage anything. but yes it is something which should be confirmed with the honda technicians.

the honda guys seemed confident that the bike can be push started in second gear as the battrey is not completly dead it just doesnt have enough juice to crank the engin but the FI does come online along with the ABS .
trick is to find 2 people to push a bike....thats goning to be a rather comical sight on the road.

hey sorry all , got married and stuff went completly offline.
                                finnaly broke the silence.
Rode to Amritsar on the 2nd of april with a bullet 500 and FC16
the honday gave an average of 22 kmpl as i was driving at 100kmph with teh other bikes. if one leans on the tank the average shoots up to 26kmpl .

but this bike does strain the thigh on a long ride, esp if one drives slowly , i realized driving around 130kmph reduces the fatigue factor.
