well moderators please decide if the thread is to be moved, i am ok with whatever is suitale to the members, put it up here cause Fireblah had done a great job on his thread inthe superbike section, thought i would focus more on the ownership experience, hence.

Oh i just finished my "running in" which is 500km in this bike that too dont red line is the one liner warning by honda--they really put a lot of faith in thier engin.
Althought my current ablity and riding condition donot warrent a red line for some time soon.

@Nitro - i have had a mixed response. personally the bike is saml and lacks presence of a superbike. It is sized similar to my pulsar a little wider. there are some pics on one fireblah thread with karisma p220 judge for yourself.
although funny story in my office parking lot people could not find it my parking has about 10 rows of 30 bikes and 4 exciteded people went down to have a look at the bike, it was quite funny, i had to finally point it out.

i guess this is more to the large presence of the r15 at a quick look the bike gets overlooked esp since i have avery dull grey color - fireblah has a golden rim with warrent more attention.
the other day parked outside barista along with a '03 fierblade this'09 was totally ignored, in fact even i thought that the 03 is an awsome looking bike with red and black color sceme..

frankly it is a nice thing as one doesn't like too much attention in india janta is a fiddley lot, only when parked long enough does it start to attract attendtion, you need one curious onlooker to snowball others .

Done no significant rides so far to write about just commutes here and there , i am getting more comfortable with the bike, one notable diffrence is one is scared to tilt the bike too much thus tending to take larger curve while cutting in traffic or turning, i thik it is a matter of getting faith or adjusting the suspensions.

the rear shock has now started to bounce a bit on the small undulations of the india roads, i plan to make fiddle witht the setting of the rear and make it a twist softer, been reading up a bit on that on some website.
well let you all know how that goes.

@fireblah - done anthing with your suspension settings? sad could not catchup with you and give you a comparision ride..next time perhaps.

Hey Bunny, no I have not yet done any fiddling with the suspension settings. Roads in Kolkata are bumpy. Even the brand new ones are as they never use machines to make roads here (all man power )
But I am not so sure and haven't done any research as to what should be an ideal setting for bumpy roads. That is soft or hard, as one of the honda engineers confused me on his visit.
So let me know if you find some information regarding this....
As for a meet, I am planning to be in Delhi for 2-3 days in Jan ... during the auto expo.. lets meet then

Angry Damn this bike has reliablity issues

my honda experience is getting worse, today again i had to abandon my bike as it would not start.

the same problem battery doesnot have enought juice to start the bike, funny thing is like last time it was running fine till the last time i stopped and parked the bike , come back to start it and ---nothing..

spoke to the honda chap they will come tommorow to fix the problem - it seem they lack knowledge of the bike , they are not able to suggest any alternative either to start it(like push start or jump start). i guess i need to start carrying a battery charger for the bike as well.
{updated}
the honda guys do offer good service the chap came today with a new battery and fitted it, i would be goign for my first service on wednesday and they would run a full electrical system scan to see if any problems exist. for the time the fitted the battery and checked the voltage it was ~13 on switching on it droped to 12.5v as the light are one once you start the bike and rev it a bit till 3-4K rpm the voltage reached 14.5V thus demonstrating that some sort of charging is taking place.

The battery in this bike is a lead acid sealed type (kind used in UPS) 12v 8.5Ah , the recomended charging it 0.9A for 5hr and 4.5 for 1 hr, this can be achived with some regulated voltage adapters so i am planning to add that to my back pack just incase i face such a problem i can charge the battery and get on the way untill i am sure that the problem has been resolved

@fireblah - check this website out it has good detail on suspension setting as well as recomended setting for bikes

the setting for the CBR1000rr '08 model are also giving.

Default normal petrol works in superbike

so i put in normal petrol as i plan to take it to jaipur.. and it works slight dip in initial pickup but nor noticable. drove for 50km
then tried it with STP octane booster..sadly no diffrence in performace no improvment at all..rode for another 50km

honda people send a nice riding jacket to all its SBK customers blizard jacket with all protectors and removable warm liner.

tommorw i go for my first service

Congrats Sir, for ur ride...

Do get the bike properly serviced and checked thoroughly, so that next time u wont be stranded in the middle of the road...

It just send shivers down my spine as how it would have felt, when you mentioned that how the front tyre went a bit off the road, like taking off slowly like an aircraft...

Its slightly alarming, but hopefully Honda's equipped enough to troubleshoot. Hope the issue gets solved...

BTW its a nice move by Honda.... Fireblah told me yesterday he got an armoured jacket from Honda, and I was like...
