Red face Honda CBR 1000rr '09 fireblade

I finally decide to put finger to keyboard and try and write about my lovely blade's ownership experience which has been a mixed one. After a long wait ~8year to buy a superbike i could finally achive the dream. Yes i bought it with my own money that i earned over the 8 year period i worked as a software engg proejct manger types. So allthouse who plan to save to buy a super bike , start saving its is a possiblity.
After much debate and may thread on xbhp i decided on the fireblade for its safter and perfect technolgy plus the fact that is is a very usable bike and i am not a showoff kind of a person
Anyway, so i paid the money and the setup a Honda saftey course at thier Manesar plant (see Fireblah's thread on the same. it was very well conducted the diffrence was i had requested for a ride on a fireblade as well and they arranged that for me my dream bike the Honda Fireblade 2007 model in my dream color of red and black (will upload pics later)
at the end after a week or so of pushed delivery dates (3 time delayed beasue it was that dusherra period i finally get my delivery on the 30th of Sep 09

They guys at the showroom were very helpful and explained all functions of the bike amist a huge crowd of onlookers

that is the senior tech Mr Ashok. Then i took the bike for my first ride ever on the traffice road of nariana with great flutter in my belly
thankfully the honda saftey program helped a lot and gave me the comfort factor to ride the bike

they gave me a lovely leather keycase and 5 liter of petrol to have me on my way and i was off taking the bike back home....

This is a really comfortable bike , smooth handels very well brakes efficently and you can comfortable chugg along at extreamly low speeds without any problems.(as long as u are a mature and sensible rider)
Yes it heats up quite a bit when it is new esp at the right foot and subsequently along the entier body but never at an uncomfortable level even in peak traffic conditions.

Motorcycle Ownership Experience Thread Approved.

Wonderful Bunny! Congratulations on getting the 1000RR. This thread reminds me of Rossiter's R1 thread, in which, he was almost giving us live feedback on his purchase of the R1.

Awesome... This is the second XBhp Blade of the same colour...

Ride safe man. Get a nice Jacket + riding boots (Alpinestars/ Sidi ), a nice lid (Shoei, Arai, AGV), premium unleaded (Speed 97) and you are ready to roll...

PS: How old are you now? 8 years of hard earned money... Inspiring...

thanks guys, it has been a proud moment.
lots more to write about as some would have seen my message on fireblah's thread as well.
so that was day 1 of getting the bike filled it up and riding it back from nariana to Noida filled her up with speed97 (if you are in south delhi there are plenty of pumps around)

Xbhp now has review of both the colors that were launched the pearl blue (Fireblah) and the archilies black (mine although its grey wonder why they call it black)
the armor that i wore was not exactly as loki described , yes i do plan to get that in phases as i start to push the bike more.

currenty was wearing Feildsheer jacket with elbow, shoulder and back armour been using it for over a year even on my p220 -rarely leave home without it very comfortable give you a secure feeling while riding

I stongly recomend it for all bikers not just the sbk lot

Cats make great shoes althought not complet ankle protection but again for regular biking very good i have had a car drive over my foot when standing at traffic light!!! , and i have Bieffe helmet which i quite snug.
so currenly i am using the regular gear.
the bike is very addictive you feel like riding it every day
first 3 days did 250km finish a full tank of fuel rode on the famous greater noida expressway
here are some pics on the express way

ran in to trouble when i went to gurgaon the bike would not start just make funny clicking sound and kepp doing the self check and i had to abandon it in gurgoan and take alternative means to get back home

the honda guys very very helpful they sent the chap to the location to find the problem which turnd out that the battery did have have enough power to start the bike. he charger the battery and got it working again.
the big question is why did it happen - guess we would never know the bike has been running fine since.
Rode it last night and have starter to open the throttle a little more , normally i ride around 3-4k rpm thats 96kmph on top gear.
i have a tendency to quickly upshift the gear on the sound based on my past riding experence (since this engine sounds much faster hence the quicker shifting) aslo it make the accelration slower and more managable.

pushed it yesterday to 7k rpm on second(or 3rd-4th gear as i could not make out i drive by the sound and stuff was happening so fast) gear the front started to lift off the ground a bit, a really amazing feeling - it wasnt like a clutch wheelie pop up but it just started to lift of very gently like an aircraft taking off, i ofcourse reduce the throttel immediatly and all this at just 60kmph but at a mind numbing accelration the kind you can feel in your stomach. My mind and boday are still adapting to the
phew !!! this bike feels so much safer than my p220 as it is more stable stops faster and you can drive at 4kmph in traffic jams will much lesser strain.

on the comfort factor only the first day getting the bike back i had a little pain in the lower back and wrist but that was more because i was really tensed up, havent had that since, but then again havent ridding for more that 40km at a stretch although once that 40km took me 1.5hr.

one more thing the bike has a milage meter that shows current kmpl, average kmpl since last refile which resets every time you refuel..(that is so cool) so i am getting 14.8kmpl (this is a common question)
