Default Mahindra Duro

We bought a Duro in Dec09.
Used for 900km so far, all in city traffic situation.
Here is the feedback I have for Duro so far - (Hopefully would be helpful for prospective customers)
1. Cheap looking and low quality plastic/fiber parts - seriously lower quality than competition even in the wake of really low price tag as compared to Activa or so. Plastic/fiber quality all over the body, dash, rvms is really sub standard.

2. Worst ground clearance. Can hit anything bigger than a couple of inches thanks to almost useless center stand down there and really really soft(read bad) shockers.

3. Worst possible shockers for pillion riding even on a slightest rough road. Shockers bottom out almost every time you are on a bump, a small ditch or break moderately hard.

4. Side stand is too straight and short which can be inconvenient at times.

5. Lesser mileage (around 30kmpl) than our expectation(at least 40kmpl) given it is ridden very sensibly. Though it may improve as it still new.

Some pros:
- Largest under seat space I have seen
- Most usable and best designed foot board I've seen so far
- Seat is soft enough
- Engine feels smoother and peppier as compared to say Pleasure/Old Activa. Not sure about new one.

So in the end, it could be good but they tried so hard not to make it a winner.
Hope this helps others.
