Default Leh Cloudburst, flash floods. Hundreds Killed.

Srinagar: At least 12 persons were killed in Leh after cloudburst caused flash floods in the area.

It is reported that the dead include three jawans of the Indian Army. The number of those injured in the incident is estimated to be 100.

It is also reported that the cloud burst, and the consequent floods led to large scale damage of property. A CRPF camp, a BSNL office and a hospital building have been severely damaged.

Many people are believed to be trapped under the debris of homes that have collapsed. Officials fear the death toll might increase.

Meanwhile, the Army has been called in to help rescue the trapped civilians.

As per TV News, Manali-Leh roads are closed.

This year weather has been turning out real bad and now this.

Where exactly in Leh this happened? Because I don't see that the main city should be affected because of this.

This is bad news indeed. Just pray and hope that the rescue teams can free up the trapped people.

Was anyone from xBhp on a Leh trip when this happened?
