First 1199 Panigale off the assembly line

New Ducati 1199 Panigale to be in showrooms by end the of March

YESTERDAY Ducati celebrated the first 1199 Panigale to come off the assembly line as production begins on the new superbike.

From the leaked images to the Panigale's unveiling at the EICMA show in Milan, the new Ducati has been one of the most anticipated bikes in recent years. To start the production machine at the factory in Bologna, Ducati celebrated in true Italian style, as all the employees were joined byPresident Gabriele Del Torchio, General Director Claudio Domenicali and Plant Director Silvano Fini.

The whole Ducati effort celebrated the new beginning by literally 'baptising' the very first bikes of the assembly line with sparkling wine.

The Ducati Panigale 1199 is expected to be in showroms by the end of March or early April, the base model will cost £14,995 - for the rest of the Panigale range pricing click here.

Ducati will launch the bike to the world's motorcycling press in February.

One awesome looking bike. The tricolore edition is as good as it gets.
Is this bike faster than desmosedicirr? I don't think so.
AFAIK the gp bike's poor handling is due to carbon fiber usage(as you know which is quite rigid). So it must not be a problem with aluminum frame.IIRC bayliss posted that it is the fastest road bike he took on track(don't remember which). So performance of this will be definitely better than 1198.Way to go ducati.
OT:hope rossi will be back on form.Respect to stoner.

I perceive that 1199s faster than 1198 and Desmosedici in the straight line, as well as racetracks.

Some rumors of a 360 kmph top end were sprea... err... forget it, maybe they were false.

But, the reviews also say that 1199 is higher geared, compared to S1000RR (which itself clocks 303 kmph!!) even though both bikes have roughly the same power output of around 193 bhp. Now, why would they want to keep high gearing in 1199? Mileage can't be it. A record top speed? Yeah, maybe... Let's see.

As for the GP11's front end chatter, one of the reviews say it due to stiff Bridgestones on the GP bikes and there's no such problem with 1199. You can't expect Ducati to make such a mistake with a streetbike, can you?
