Even then, this bike needed 2 cat cons! So, can't say FI is really helping in this case. Bikes like Apache FI does not have any cat cons at all.

indian emissions for bikes are very low,the reason is that is that bajaj wants a highly priced bike .
Bajaj is not at all interested in selling Ninja in large volumes because it is not their mainstream product!! They want to slap the pulsar bikes to indian people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do u know the basic engine is like two decades old now? It does a lot of tech help to make a 20 year old engine meet the latest emission norms buddy

1. Oh yeh? Y do u think the YBR 250 from Yamaha cannot come to India immediately? Its because of our strict norms
2. Sales : no manufacturer in India who has launched big bikes has ever looked at sales. Neither is Bajaj : they are looking at selling 1000units in the first year

But bunny, didn't Kawasaki claim that about 70% of the engine is was reworked in the new ninja !!
Plus a 4 valve dual cam engine is modern enough for us Indians !!

Well, everyone is entitled to their point of view, but in my humble opinion, that does not seem to be the case. It is not like the 250r is selling at double the price here as compared to overseas pricing. It is still within 20-25% extra range only, unlike the 100% extra you will soon see on Harley Davidson cycles.

I work with a MNC brand which sells a lot of high end consumer products, and people think we are making a killing on each product. Nothing can be further from the truth, and likewise applies to to Bajaj Auto. The Ninja 250 is part of a totally different product segment - and I genuinely believe (inspite of my cribbing earlier on) that the pricing for the Ninja 250 is a very balanced mix of consumer sensitivity to price, short and long term competition and overall value for money.

I use an ARAI lid because I believe it is the best thing for your head if one can afford it. But people look at my helmet, and say 'Why is this so darned expensive? Similar looking lids in India sell for Rs.1500.' And so forth. What people miss that the quality and safety of my helmet is far more superior than any similar looking products - beauty is indeed skin deep. Ditto for the Ninja250 vs rest of the motorcycles with similar displacement figures. You get what you pay for!
