So some official dates finally.. good.

But 1.5 - 2.0 lakhs..?? Too good to be true.. i'd say. Somehow I feel that the final price tag would be higher (though I would absolutely not mind a lower price tag).

Something smells fishy here. The statement "The motorcycle would be priced between Rs 1.50 lakh and Rs 2 lakh in India. "The bookings would start just ahead of Diwali and the deliveries would happen immediately," Bajaj stated.", raises a few eyebrows.

I mean, the article says that the bike is going to be launched on october 5th, that means there are just 12 odd days left bedore launch. Now what this article suggests is that even 12 days before that launch of a major product, the MD of the company does not have a specific price for the product! Somehow I find that hard to believe.

This could mean either of the following two things, as far as i can think.
1. The MD is trying to keep the price a secret from the competition for as long as he can by giving a broad range spanning Rs. 50k. This would serve a two fold purpose: keep the buzz going in the market and give sleepless nights to competitors which they will spend wondering whether the price is possible and how can they repond to it.
2. The announcement is merely a better iteration of the earlier announcements where bajaj just gave a random month for the launch of ninja. Now they have started prefixing the month with a date.

I dont think we can expect the price to be announced before the launch of the bike itself. Atleast I have not noticed any compnay doing that.

Well, what I think important here is, if the bike will be launched on 5th Oct at all ! Thats the bigger question than the price! Price and who can afford at what price, the launch thread will take care of it! :-)
