Ninja 250 costs 1.49L Baht in Thailand. i.e ~ 2.15 L INR : So between 1.5 to 2 L ( ex showroom - Delhi, which are generally 2-4% lower than the rates in other cities ) in india is quite possible .....

When the probiking guy Bandhav himself said the price expectation of 1.5-2lakh to be utter crap I see no reason why you guys are raising your hopes again and again.

When a single cylinder liquid cooled 150 cc with 17PS demands over a lakh, why would BAJAJ price it at 1.5 - 2? Its better to be practical and logical and expect something around the 3L mark and save ourselves from disappointment!

P.S: I would be happy not to trust any of these newspaper reports and wait for the bike to hit the damn showrooms!

Considering the on-road cost of 1.49L Baht in Thailand. i.e ~ 2.15 L INR, lets do some deductions...

remove assembling costs ( considering CKD )
remove transport costs
remove dealer profit
remove insurance and other taxes applicable in thailand

Considering this, the base price would come even lower than at what it is sold in
Thailand.

Now add various costs and taxes applicable to sell this thing in India.

Also Bajaj might be getting some benefits from Kawasaki as Bajaj opens a wide market for Kawasaki bikes without much expenditure in infrastructure and other costs.

A price close to 2L INR is difficult but not impossible.
