Truck carrying loose building materiel - watch out!

Stuff like sand, gravel or even rocks falling out of trucks. You've probably seen it before and were angry at the trucker. Keep a sharp look-out for such inconsiderate morons and stay either way behind them or way ahead of them.

Kudos to you Rohit. Thanks for showing us your great experience. Hope I ride there one day.
Thanks Ravi bhai,it an honor to me..that all this appreciation is coming from a senior biker like you .Thanks a lot.

    Day 6 - Dibrugarh - Miao - Namdapha - Jairampur

It was the day when I was running away from the rains.Have soaked enough of rain water from last couple of days. And start of this run wasn't much good.As when I was about to start in the morning,It rained quite heavily and delayed the start of the day.
Got to start my ride by 09 AM,with a clear sky.

The tea gardens around the NH37,continues to distract me with their beauty.I stopped at a spot where few of the labours were plucking the Tea leaves,
to get a good shot i stopped for a while. And yeah I succeded in getting One

After crossing Tinsukia,I reached Makum, from where I had to take a diversion towards right hand side for Reaching Namdapha/Miao.The road was very good, butter smooth in words of a biker.

    I crossed towns named Digboi,Margherita,Ledo..and reached Jagun.Which had a Y junction.
The left diversion was for Miao/Namdapha and the Right diversion was to Jairampur and Burma border.Burma border looked more interesting to me.Meanwhile the engine was running bit rough, could have been the hard run at the Tawang circuit. So I thought of changing the engine oil.
Got a Vavoline full synthetic Oil for the baby and did some enquiry about getting into Burma with the Repair Centre owner.Unfortunately,he did not had much information to tell.
So I carried on towards Namdapha, just when I exited Jagun town.I was stopped by Assam Rifles for enquiry purposes and Permit validation.Initially they were having two thoughts to let me go ahead, but after getting permission from their commander..they let me go ahead.

The road condition was pretty bad,all the way till Miao.I reached Miao in the afternoon and pulled myself to a restaurant for Lunch. Was quite fed up with eating Rice from last couple of days..For a change I asked the owner if I can get some Roti or Paratha. But no luck in that,as the owner
    nodded with a 'NO'

    Ended up eating Rice again

The locals told me that, there is no point in going Namdapha..as you wont find any Animals. You might find an Ulfa,Bodo or something but not Animals.I was bit scared, but I did not wanted to go empty handed..Since I had come this far for it,I wanted to see what's there.

So I packed my tummy and headed towards Namdapha, the road condition became worst from Bad.It was actually a 4X4 road.Namdapha was another 15 Kms from Miao.It took an hour to reach there, blame it on the road condition.

Reached an entry gate, where I came to know..that we need to get permission from Miao Forest department SDO,In order to go inside Namdapha Wild Sanctury. Now,that was a great excuse to not let me go in.

I returned back to Miao,And frankly speaking..I did not find anything interesting in the Miao-Namdapha circuit. Not even a single scenic view.

I came back to Jagun and moved towards Burma Border. In order to go till Burma Border, your permit should explicitly say the name 'Pangsau Pass' or 'Namphong'.Else you are not allowed to go past Jairampur.

At the start of Jairampur there is a Arunachal Pradesh police check post, which might turn you back..if you do not have 'Pangsau Pass' or 'Namphong' written in your pass.If you managed to go ahead. Then you will be turned back by the several check posts of Assam Rifles which comes ahead on the way to Burma Border.

So make sure your Inner Line Permit mentions the name clearly. It happened with me as neither 'Pangsau Pass' nor 'Namphong' was written in my permit because it wan not there in my Original ride plan.

I reached Jairampur AP police post, where they were not allowing me to go ahead.I requested them, that I am coming from very far and the whole story of my travel. They said there is a SDO office around if I can get permission. So I went to the SDO office, but they clearly advised that they dont have authority to provide
passes to the tourists for these sensitive areas.I begged a lot with no luck at all.But I am not the person who can give up..just like that.Since the office was about to close as it was 05 PM.I thought of coming next day in the morning to SDO office and beg again with more stronger reasons.

Meanwhile I had entire evening and night to collect some strong reasons to get this Permit approval done.I found an okayish hotel for the night for 400 INR.

Had rice plate in the night along with beer and crashed to bed.

    Cheers

Really a very informative and picturesque travelogue. Truly deserves 5 star rating.

It will help me a lot, in my future travel plan, as I wish to be there (in fact been there decades ago but this time wish to be there on bike).
