Tip of the Day

Hot days - molten Tar = slip/slide

Hot days create more than one problem. Tarmac roads with a greater than normal proportion of tar mixed in their making is one. The extra targets soft and gooey. Brake hard on it or take a fast turn and the bike can slide as easily on it as on spilt oil. So watch it.

Beautiful... just went through all the photos... Amazing. One requires some ssort of permit to enter Arunachal?? I wonder why Chinese claim their own territory !

Thanks a lot sir ji,The advice was given for both the things personal security and bad roads/no roads

Thanks buddy,Yeah permit is required to keep track of outsiders entering in Arunchal.Mostly to keep away the terrorists.

    Day 4 - Gohpur - Ziro - Daporijo

I proceeded towards Itangar/N Lakhimpur in the morning to make make my way towards Ziro.As per my preaprations and google map the turn to Ziro was few kms before N Lakhimpur.

Upon covering few kms i bumped into a confusing diversion. The road turning to the left goes to Itanagar in 29 Kms and the road which goes straight takes 77 Kms to reach Itanagar.Condition wise both the roads looked same.Any person with average intelligence would have taken the short cut,So did I

After travelling 12-15 Kms on the shortcut,i encountered a road block and a big sign board..saying "Road closed - Work in Progress".I asked the local people around if a bike can make it to the other side till Itanagar.Everybody advised not to go from this route and take the 77 kms long-cut.So i went back and took the long route.

The road was in pretty good condition with freshly laid tar and no traffic at all.In no time i reached the Itanagar chowk. Its again a diversion from where the left road takes you to the Itanagar with a distance of 18-20 kms.Noticed the huge gate, heavily guarded by police and army.On the right there was a counter where one has to get the entry done for the permits and vehicle.Though i was going straight towards N Lakhimpur,I still went to the counter and got the entry done..Proving myself to be a good boy and law abiding citizen.

N Lakhimpur was just 12 Kms and i still couldn't find the diversion. So took help from Local GPS,and yeah i was just few inches away from missing it.

The weather looked quite spooky ahead, with lots of dark clouds.I somehow made myself ready for it and clearly told my mind that "this circuit might get fuc**d up due to the fog and rains".But for now lets go ahead.

    Typical huts/houses in Arunachal

Very intelligently done Farmlands and peoples with nice gesture

A journey full of rains and waterfalls

I stopped at a place named KIMIN for a breakfast.Place did not had much places to eat,but i wanted to try some local food. The only thing available for eating was Desi noodles.Trust me the noodles were tasteless and she has put dry fish and chicken as topping which made the taste more worse. No Namak,No Mirch..nothing.Then and there i took an Oath,no local food anymore :P

Some wildlife - Wild goats with one wild bike ..Mind the polythene Jugaad mentioned below

Just when i was about to leave ahead,It started to drizzle, which transformed into heavy rains very soon.Like my any other ride's i did not came prepared for the rains.I asked the shop lady if she has any polythene by which i can cover up the Saddle bags atleast. She pointed towards the only hardware shop they have in the town.I bought a polythene cover for 20 bucks(Cheap i say) and zoomed ahead, enjoying the first proper rain of the season

Was completely wet...inside out. After 30-40 Kms plain, the ghat sections started and they continued till Ziro.Due to the bad weather most of the stretch was foggy and the view around were covered with clouds. Also wherever i got the weather without the fog,it was raining badly..so was not able to take out the camera.

Plan was to cover Along and Menchuka as well, but due to bad weather i made my mood to skip both the places.Which are actually the places which should not be missed once you are in Arunachal. The local people around says that Menchuka is like Switzerland and the plains and lands out there are on same hieght with chinese lands.

A bridge along the way to Daporijo. When i was trying to capture a pic of the bridge...a guy came and said this bridge is spooky and full of ghosts, dont take picture of it or you will die.I got scared for a moment and then three fine ladies came and shoo'ed away the guy and said politely 'The ass is just fooling around, take as many pictures as you can'.How i wish if the girls would have said the same for themseleves as well

Though the entire day was spent on riding under fog and rain,at the end of the day when the cloud got settled down.I got to see quite a beautiful site

It was evening when i reached Daporijo.Looked like a big town, but had very few hotels to stay.Got my self a pathetic single room for 400 bucks,I saved the money to get some gud medicines tonight.Bought a half of 100 Pipers for 400 INR,that's damn cheap !!!.I should repear here Beautiful girls,Cheap petrol, beautiful weather,Cheap booze, beautiful landscapes and cheap food.Arunachal is the place i want to settle in

Well dont take it seriously and dont try to give it a shot,Else the place will be over populated with junks like US.

    Cheers

    Thank You SIR !!
U reminded us that there is another paradise for bikers in India other than Leh-Ladakh.

Biru Bhaiyya, you are making us starve here for the rest of the pics and the log. cant wait more... please continue the log... its cruel to pause such a beautiful log so abruptly and that too for so long... i'm tired of complementing you for the amazing pics and frankly speaking fall short of adjectives to describe it. breathtaking is the least i could say...
A crash on d road may kill d biker n d bike, but d relationship btwn d bike n d biker never dies.

Its only next to d relationship btwn d mother n her baby.
