Final part…
The ride downhill was awesome we kept pushing the zma’s to the limit. we did have some close calls with the government run busses however we were at wathalagundu at 4.30…we had about 2 hrs and 150 ms to reach Trichy. The roads from Dindugal to Trichy are good. This might not be the GQ but the 2 way lane was super sexy. We happily cruise at 100km/hr on the zma and kept riding all the way without stopping. Finally at 6 we stopped for a but break and took pics of the Sun Setting on the outskirts of Trichy. We had 50 kms to cover and we had to switch our pathetic headlamps and ride down. The Zma’s headlight is bad , it was difficult riding on the 2 way lane with trucks and busses killing us with their powerful beam. Finally crawled our way to trichy. From My previous experience I knew that finding a room in Trichy was tough, searched for a place to stay and finally went back to the same hotel I stayed last time on my trip to Kerala. We Had dinner at a restaurant named Sangetha, the food here was delicious. We were Little too tired to roam around, so headed back to bed . Got up at 4 and started from Trichy, I have never ridden on the NH 45 and did not know about the condition of the road. One information I forgot to tell you guys was that my cell phone fcuked up in Kodai because of the rains, I did not think that this was going to be a huge problem however Realized it on the final day of our trip. The roads from Trichy to Chennai starts off as a disaster, the roads were not laid and the construction was going on. I have to inform you guys that this is the bossiest highway in Tamilnadu , any bus or car heading south has to go past Trichy. Heavy traffic, poor headlights, no roads and add to that we had lost each other. It was 5 in the morning and I could not find Ke Ke. Headed back and forth to Trichy but could not find him. Decided to call him on his cell phone but I do not remember his number. Finally thought I would call back Home get his number and ask him to wait on the highway. Problem 2, All I had was 500 rs notes and there were very few shops on the highway at this time and none of them had change…Finally located a bus stand where there were some restaurants where I thought I could make calls. Stopped my bike and found Ke Ke rushing towards me…He had been searching the dreaded highway for the same time…Finally we were relieved that things were back to normal but we had lost about an hour and a half. Decided to stick close together and headed back towards Chennai. Slowly the highway began opening and we saw that only one side of the 4 way lane was complete, but we could maintain 90 on the Speedo comfortably. We stopped to take pics of the Sun rising and headed towards Ulundurpet. We kept maintaining 90 + on the Speedo and reached Ulunurpet in good time.Chennai was a 194 kms away….We had breakfast and pushed off towards Chennai. On my previous trip to Yercaud this portion of the road was under construction and was bad.we were surprised to find the highway to be in better health than what we experienced last time around. Now we were maintaining 100+ as we rode down to Dindivanam. From here it is a 4 way lane and we decided to test the machined to the limit.Ke Ke managed 135(Speedo) on his zma and I managed 130.Reached back home in No time and headed to work on the same day. Oddo reading – 1444.44kms Fuel Efficiency – Ke Ke’s Zma – 33.5 Kms/L Steve’s Zma - 32.0 Kms/L This was one the better trips I have had and my first 1000 kms + ride on My Zma.The Zma is the best , most comfortable touring machine available in India(My Opinion – No Brand wars).1444.44 kms felt like a breeze. Now waiting to test the same machine on a 2k ride this December….Wait for more…Now enjoy the pics… |
