I don't read all the posts but the best and safest as well as convenient way to do that is to lock the helmet with the number loop lock (cycle wala lock),i am doing this from last 1 year and seriously feels very relieved.

i always carry my helmet with me...wherever i go.

i simply can not risk its visor getting scratched.
