Default Motorcycle Chain Wax

Hi Guys!! I came across the 'chain wax' while browsing for products on a UK based portal (Motorcycle Helmets, Clothing, Jackets, Gloves, Boots & Accessories).

If anyone has prior experience of using this product, can you please tell us how it fares vs. the regular chain lube (I personally use 'Motul Road').
Also is it suitable for usage in our climate which is warmer than that in the UK (based onwhat I see on this portal, it is widely used in the UK)?

I have seen posts on the forum by a few members who have purchased Wurth chain lubes in India. Can you please share the contact details (website/ email/ phone) so that I can pick the product from India itself

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back;
and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Hi tibby, i remember my cousin once referring me this product long time back. He even said that it was better than few chain sprays he used on his sbks. Though i dont have any personal experience with the wax myself.

Thanks! Has your cousin used this in Indian conditions?
Unfortunately there is not too much info available on the internet, but I do get an impression that it is more suited for cold climates like the UK.

If the wax used herein implies the normal wax, then it would melt away in too much heat (summers in India). I may be wrong here though.

Is it possible for you to check with your cousin on further details? Would appreciate any help.

@All: Any inputs on this topic?

Hi,

Yes my cousin used it in Mumbai also. But he said it was good only for cooler climates. Back in the US, these waxes performed better for him marginally. He had tried truck loads of stuff on his bikes .
BTW, take a look at this
Liquid Performance Chain Lube - webBikeWorld

PS:- Amongst the locally available products, i somehow found the Diamond chain lube to be better than the rest in terms of lubrication and longivity. You may want to try that out for a change

+1 to that. I have been using it for sometime now. Cost about Rs.100/- only. Seems it contains SAE120 oil with an alcoholic thinning agent to facilitate in spray form.

Check out DuPont's Teflon Chain saver. Its reportedly an awesome product but expensive at USD 20 per canister and is available here for around 1200 bucks. (quality comes at a price )

Give me a week's time, let me experiment with Wurth as its showroom is in Kilpauk, Chennai. Motul is complete waste when it comes to touring. I've been having hard time with rains & lubing chain!!!
