ya my bike is now 4 months old but 8700+kms now... Long rides is not a probs... coz i like touring... so +4 or +6 jet is what u prefer rite?
and which model of K&N is good??? i mean usually everyone use the base model RC1060, is R1100 suits my bike???
yeah i meant synthetic oil, start with the motul 5100 15w50...one serious mot%^ $#@king oil...will do some wonders...i mean go for a 200km non stop ride above 100~110 in the sun,ur exhausted and then at 110 rip ur bike and see with the 5100,how ur bike will pull u up like there's no tomm and even the engine will still be real smooth unlike with ur ordinary oil,it would become rough and ur bike degraded to a 125ish performance (my personal experience)..
use it as stock for 10k and swithch over to motul 5100 or the syn ver of yamalube with an iridium plug and u'll see the difference...all this will cost u arnd 800 bucks.. .then if u still insist on a k&n go for an rc1060 as it will be more than enuf for ur ride and also u will require real heavy plumbing with the r1100 which would not be necessary for a 150...yes +5 size will mostly be enuf, but u'll have to experiment cause no 2 bike r the same...

Default Yamaha OEM Air Filters for R15

@All: Can anyone tell me which SVC in Hyderabad has stock of OEM Air Filters for R15?
I know the anawer to this will be no, so here goes the next question:
Anywhere else in Bangalore/Pune?
A few of us in Hyd need them real bad, so we would be highly obliged if someone could take the pain to send them across, of course with prior full amount payment from us here.

yep now it's more clear... and more than that one must do a practical experiment... so i am not going for the K&N... will change to synthetic engine oil and the iridium plugs... which brand is good for iridium plugs??? heard only about NGK...

the only aftermarket plugs available for our indian bikes are ngk and bosch..
ngk - iridium IX - not availabe for all bikes(costs 450~550 bucks)
- G Power - available for all bikes...costs 165~200 bucks
(worth every penny)

to check ur bike plugs avilability - NGK Partfinder for Two Wheelers

Improved fuel efficiency, Lower Emissions, Quicker Starts.
Fine platinum tip reduces required voltage Extremely durable under high heat “Zinc Plating with Trivalent Chrome Treatment” has superior anti-corrosion & anti-seizing properties Faster starts and quicker acceleration Better fuel economy and lower emissions Best platinum spark plug at an economical cost

and bosch gives us dual electrode

BOSCH Super: twin electrode for 2 wheelers
  • Increased ignition reliability throughout the spark plug’s entire service life
  • Improved cold-start characteristics
  • Low ignition-voltage requirement
  • Self-cleaning effects in case of sooting
  • Two ground electrodes increase the plug’s service life
