Hi guys,
I need your suggestion. Am a 27-year-old guy, 5'9", approx 70 kg. I've decided to buy a bike and now am stuck between two of them. Bajaj Pulsar 150cc (UG4) OR CBZ Xtreme. My budget is 65k and mileage and maintenance are an important factor in my purchase. Previously, I was thinking of getting a Passion coz of very low maintenance and a very good mileage, but now am thinking of getting something that looks good too ![]() So, which one would you guys recommend and why ? So far, I've spoken to quite a few people, friends, relatives., etc. Some say Pulsar and some say CBZ. Here are the pros and cons I've gathered so far... Bajaj Pulsar Pros 1. Looks so much better than CBZ Xtreme. 2. Average is comparable to CBZ - am guessing 50 to 55. 3. Comfort wise is better than CBZ (personal experience). Cons. 1. According to people, after 1 year, it's body gets fuggly, in hindi we say - dhili dhali. 2. Not as sturdy as any Hero Honda bike (CBZ Xtreme). 3. Maintenance may be higher than that of CBZ Xtreme. CBZ Xtreme Pros 1. Average is good - assuming 50 to 55. 2. Maintenance is very low. Cons. 1. Can't think of any Cons except the bike model is very old but thats not an issue. To tell you guys the truth, this is all SPECULATION. What I've heard from other people. I personally am inclining towards a Pulsar coz it looks SO MUCH BETTER than CBZ Xtreme. My friend just bought a UG4 If it weren't for it's cons, I wouldn't even be making this thread If any of you guys could shed some light on the cons of Pulsar, then please do so. It would be much appreciated. I have even heard a few of my friends saying...."Pulsar ek sal ke bad dabba ban jayegi - sab kuch dhila dhala ho jaye ga" This is very confusing ![]() Anyways, any help in this regards would be highly appreciated. Thanx a lot in advance. Desperately waiting for a reply |

if u maintain your bike well, than it wil serve you for long time, regarding CBZ xtreme, if i were buyer i would have buyed P150ug4 , as it is the best from the lot of pulsar 150 family and is mine favourite.. CBZ extreme i donot know, but my friend has one and he is happy with it.. mind you he drives his extreme extremely hard ripping it most of time and never maintains it, but the xtreme CBZ handles it quite easily

what I feel CBZ xtreme is much better than the Pulsar 150, since Hero Honda has made the best 150 cc engine in terms of mileage and performance. I earlier thought fot xtreme too but Yamaha(FZ 16) pe dil aa gaya... I would suggest to go for cbz xtreme, it has got mileage, performance with low maintenance.
Even the handling of xtreme is much better than Pulsar 150... So go for CBZ xtreme...

according to me most important part of any bike is engine .
cbz has very smooth and reliable honda engine, pulsar engine is nowhere near to honda engine. Two of my friends bought cbz and pulsar 3 years back. Last month one has to spent 12000 rs on pulsar engine overhauling, but the guy with cbz is very happy. I have seen honda engine doing 50000 km aur engine me chabi tak nahi lagti. Cbz will be very good for long term , bajaj still has long road to make engines comparable to honda. second thing is service : hero honda has better service network than bajaj. |

@Topic Its honestly hard to choose between them, considering Pulsar is more VFM than Xtreme. But there are things to consider more than VFM in certain aspects. Lookswise I wont comment, But considering overall aspects, I prefer Xtreme. Mileage: Both are almost the same.

Asking for more BHP

In my opinion go for CBX xTreme....Pulsar is same throughout its all versions(no offence to the owners)...But i think CBZs whole generation is one of the robust segment of bikes in the market
