Two ZMAs, 9 Days in Western Ghats
One bad thing about Pulsar is it drinks oil, so after 1k of riding after an engine oil change, you need to check for oil level regularly every 500kms and top up if required. Many of the pulsar's parts go for a toss because of overheating and this overheating is caused by none other than less amount of oil.
My advise is go for P220 as its king of most of the trades except for vibrations where zma betters it any day.. And vibrations doesnt mean that a p220 will shake you off the bike and drop you to ground .. its just that its more than a zma and is very much in tolerable limits.
Anyways, long term maintainance is not a problem buddy, as the P220 parts are cheaper, After 50k kms (Assuming you'll clock that much in next 4-5 years) you can rebuild the whole engine for say 15k rupees and use it for another 50k kms..
The bike is excellent on Highways, city limits and king of drags!! with projector lamps, its king of night touring even!! What more, you cant ask for everything!! Go get that 220 and enjoy that look of riders when u smoke them..
since you want a durable long keeping touring bike,i would suggest a zma anyday for its proven established touring capabilities...however i needed raw power and abundant torque and 220 serves me with this purpose at ease in any band....
I RuLe Da HeAvEn, I RuLe Da heLL,I RuLe Da UnIvErSe, As HuMaNiTy FeLL
d 220 is any day far better
Everyone crashes. Some get back on, Some don't, Some can't.....God dosen't want me so I M bAcK to RaIsE SuM HELL
Go for ZMA if you want comfort and ride often with pillion.P220 wins in power and features.I own a Zma and my bro owns a p200 so i use both on regular basis.Zma is good for touring but only on the highway.P220 with its soft suspension is easier to ride off road. After buying zma a tourer will have to upgrade to better tyres, horn and better headlight and a crash guard if you prefer. While p220 can be used stock for a long time.
I bought the Ninja 250R !!.....And then i woke up :(
go through the ownership experiences of both the bikes and decide..
p220 s for features and power
karizma for reliabilty handling and a perfect tourer...
my friend's brother owns a karizma...even after very bad maintanence it serves the purpose very well...
my vote is for karizma..
I remember similiar dilemma before getting by bike. However, I had to choose between the zma and the 220FI. What did i get? Check my prof pic
But you would have to compromise on the famous engine cowl.
If you are among those who just commute & dont really bother about ripping at real high speeds & can stay contended with what u have & play safe go for zma.
If you are one among those who would love to have a high speed ride in the weekend for a change & like commuting at a higher pace & dont mind spending for a service just for the thrill which it gives then go for a pulsar. U wouldnt regret.
Biking is not my Passion, it is my Religion!

A Crash- Broken levers, loose chains - clogged filters, oil stains / Missing panels, clunky gears - scuffed leathers, chilled beers. :D

I am getting useful information here. Now, I am in a dilemma that what will I do if Karizma R phases out in a year or two? Only thing which is making me inclined towards Pulsar 220S is better rear tire, disk brake, oil cooled engine and digital speedometer.
Could please anyone tell me that disk brake and oil cooled engine makes sense to Pulsar 220S. Is it really useful to the bike?
