You missed to check out prolly the best bike from Bajaj's stable - The Pulsar 135 LS. It light and handles hotter than the GS150r. Gives a mileage of around 66.8 kmpl (ARAI certified). And even the spares are cheap. You wont have to stretch your bugdet either.
As for touring, there are guys who've done Saddlesores on it. You shouldn't really be asking for more.

One other bike I'd like to point out to you is the CBZ Xtreme (now only Xtreme). Its highly comfortable. Maybe because its a more commuter friendly bike. But its quite easy to ride. Heavier than P135,yet light enough to handle. Mileage is around 50kmpl. And well within your budget. I'm not too sure about its touring capabilities, but with a mileage that high and a saddle that good, I dont think touring should be an issue.

i would recommed you to go for gs150r.....forget impulse if you go for long distance touring..my freind has got a impulse back in my native town..i got a chance to drive his vechile...the seats are really bad..sorry hero...take the bike to the highyway the missing horses is easily felt....with a pillion rider, the bike managed a top speed of 105..the engine feels strained after 80...whereas a xtreme or a dazzler would be a breeze to ride...pillion seat lack any support...my pillion shouted to stop the bike after a riding the bike for 10 mins because of heat from the silencer...without a pillion i rode the bike in sugarcane fields,,i was doing at 40kmph in the paddy fields with larger potholes..where my xtreme strugggled even to move..the perfect offroader...........these are just my opinions........

if u can extend ur budget,,,u can get apache180, zma or p220.....get any one of this bikes,,,,u can tour all day long at triple digit speeds...

Being a com-tourer on P135, i am not doubting any of the mills abilities. But would sure recommend you for GS150R. Just because of its engine smoothness and 6th gear for better cruising ability.

Regards

yes brother , i would but the maintanence cost is becoming unbearably high.... besides, its too small for me, and im not exactly proud of riding it to college everyday.
I still suggest to wait for some time and widen your choice. Otherwise, I am affraid, You will look at other bikes around you after few months. Whereas, a little patience will give you peace of mind for another 6-7 years and you will forget the current maintenance cost of activa.

Choice is yours.
