@ Toxicbiker
Close your eyes and book the White Fazer. Let the P220 or ZMA reach the destination 5-10 mins faster. But you will never want to get off your Fazer even after reaching the destination. Fazer is exactly built for your perception, simply go for it. Regular maintenance will be same like any 150CC bike and spares cost are cheap too.

Hi Everyone!
New to the forum! Never owned a motorcylce before. Ever since Fz-16 was out, I always knew if I'd buy a bike its gonna be this (because of its looks) However now that the time has come to actually buy one, my friends and pro's who review for bike mags suggested me to consider p220 sf as well. And I want to make the right choice. [Maybe the 2 bikes fall in totally different category, and the only reason I am comparing these 2 is because of the price tag.] My requirement: 1) Mainly City Commuting (borivali-andheri route to be precise). 2) Good Mileage. 3) Shelf Life - A bike/engine that will last me for atleast 4-5 years with comparatively lesser maintenance issues. Currently it is inconsequential if the bike has more power or is more faster. If that plays a significant role in choosing a bike, I would request all you guys to educate me on that! Cheers! |

budget is around 90000rs,i prefer looks and mileage only, performance doesnt matter, mileage should be 40 or more than 40, i dont drive rough,i drive between 45 to 55 only, needs less maintain, and i often go on long tours on bikes. Please suggest,i have shortlisted some below. 1.karizma r 2.apache rtr 180 ABS 3.FAZER |

Note: With due respect to you, we know that you adore your Zma. But please do refrain from speculation that might influence the other person's decision. And if you are speculating, you can put forth as such stating clearly that this is pure speculation since nothing has been declared or launched as yet concerning the new ZmR. Thanks for your comprehension.[/QUOTE]
Agreed!! Let's clear the doubt here. There is no practical proof that an FI has done wonders better than a proper adjusted carburetor in vehicles like Karizma. Infact pulsar withdrew their 200/220FI since thay would save atleast 10k which is a huge amount when buying a bike. FI is good no doubt but it gets clogged due to residues in fuel that is spurious and require more maintenance and FI in smaller engines with 2valve engine in no way gives you more power like he says here that it gave 19bhp! its just marginal and in most cases of FI bikes that have run 20k km give lesser power than a carb bike. For your riding condition and long journeys you can take a look at these bikes that give good ride comfort and mileage as well as cheap spares and good looks: 1. Suzuki GS150R (non availability of spares is a bit of issue with them) 2. HH CBZ/Hunk (heard it has chain issues) 3. Yamaha SZR (bad tyres, just get them replaced) |

![]() You want good mileage and choose two worst mileage bikes. Did you know both these give around 30kmpl ?? The Pulsar is no way a long cherishable item. You will end up spending a lot of your time on maintenance. Most of my friends say pulsars parts life come to end early, its true their parts are cheap but not just in price but durability too. I dont care if the pulsar races or is good, but end of the year the guy with pulsar would have visited the service center atleast double the times than my yamaha did. The Yamaha must be your preferred choice, the bike will last you long, their FZ engine is really durable and spares are priced similar to bajaj. Last edited by prajnyan; 12-04-2011 at 05:13 AM. |
