Hey man! Chill! Am sure Ken didnt mean that~!Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostThanks that you recognized it. How do you think that I am telling it as a fact?
Should I expect less power in the upgrade? Because the thread starter included the coming-to-be Zma FI in his options, I have given my opinion. Or should I tell him that the bike is going to have less than 17-ps power?
If you read my post, I clearly mentioned about the comparison about the performance. If somebody likes features, it is up to him to select a choice. Should not I tell my opinion, after all it is a public forum, and he asked for it.
Never expected this kind of post from you. Because I own a ZMA, does it mean I am adoring it? Do you think that I speak/suggest ZMA because I own it? Why would I suggest a P220, and why would I tell him to go and test ride the bikes? (read my post in the first page clearly). Sorry to tell you, but I am really disappointed at your jumping conclusions.
Thanks for your kind words. I resign here from participating in any discussion.
IMO with HHs reputation of upgrades, I wouldnt really expect a screamer in the ZMA update.
Infact I read or heard it somewhere that the new ZMA is one of the last Honda+Hero bikes... and HH has tried a lot of squeeze in goodies into it, but Honda has played the strong arm game! and everyone knows how shrewd Honda can get!
Heck I have been called a RTR FanBoy and what not.... yes it pinches but heck... thats a reputation you get for knowing what suits you the most and then you ending up having it and at times suggest it to someone!!!
Chill man!

ZMA-R --> bakwaas
220 DTS-i --> bakwaas
all Indian bikes --> bakwaas
is this my recommendation sheet? Nope...this must be the original poster's conclusion sheet after reading the thread
Please test ride the bikes that you have mentioned; see if you can take a slightly longer ride and carefully weigh them for parameters that you are looking for in a bike; whether it is power, handling, comfort, looks, refinement. Also talk to owners in your vicinity and inquire about the local service center.
I am sure, whatever you choose, you wont go wrong.Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

strange quest
have seen a lot of questions where we are comparing across the board on widely different ones..
r15 : great bike on the tracks (indian roads uh oh)..however that just still a toned down version than what it should have been.Again good if you are somewhere the japanese in heights.handling good on a track...dint like it in the lower ranges and that is what i (means me) needs on roads that aint freeways.
rtr : for all its handling dint like the vibes.certainly not a tourer.but on the Indian roads the best handler and power combo.where fz wins on handling and looks it loses in power.if i like revving and am not using the bike on long stretches i would go for this.
pulsar: value for money if you know about your girl.its easy getting the chick but difficult maintaining it.I personally don't like the looks, rvm and many other things.but i picked the 220 myself(blue) coz it suited me.I am 6 2'.
ZMA/R cant comment on the new one to come but would like it if i wasn't ready to take care of my bike.reliable but very cliched.(And i mean in the superlatives...much has been said abt lack of imagination in the hh stable)
whereas the fz and fazer, again if you are okay with the low performance maybe.it just seemed too midgety to me to even try more than a couple of time.Anyways the choice is always on what you need between the legs...U'r choiceLast edited by menethil; 08-09-2009, 05:29 PM.

I am really confused for my first bike!

dtsi i would say
nope havent heard of the pipeline....dont know y would you want a fi version...the difference discounting the roll on acceleration aint that much and trust me it aint that big a difference and the gas jump that you will get will not be that impressive either...Originally posted by mohnishr7 View PostI am really confused for my first bike!

Ohh why bro! The UCAL 32MM carb is a big incentive for me to like the P220 DTSI it puts the control of tuning totally in the owner/ owner's mechanic's hand rather than on an FI where it's all programmed. Ohhh! The raw power of a 32 mm carb. YummyOriginally posted by menethil View Postmy main worry is what if a new 2009 edition DTS-FI is in the pipeline!

I think all the bikes are good in there own standard. The manufactures tend to make them suitable for all conditions. But some succeed some fail in minor areas. I own a FZ 16 which as good power. I can easily do 120 speed in that which is enough for any city ride or touring purpose.
Just test drive which bike you like. Feel it & Decide.

Guyz..am very much new to xbhp, though i have joined few months back but still am not so much active becoz of my job.
Coming to the point, I am having a great confusion of buying a bike in the range of 80-90k i dont want to go for R15 becoz its too costly for me. i have zeroed down to Pulsar 220 dtsi and New Fazer 150. I own a Yamaha fazer 125 old one and I am aware of the refinement and reliability of the brand. but again spending 85k for a 150cc is making me confused when i am getting a bigger mill with better power in same range. My question is which one is a better handler and less in maintainability. My riding is mostly city in weekdays and weekends I go for long drives and at times twice or thrice in a year a real long drive I have in plan kinda more than 400 to 500kms. Please suggest me something in terms of reliability, maintainability, and true value for money regarding after sales service and resale value. I will be buying this after a long time wait as i dont have that much of financial prowess to change my bike frequently.
Please guys help me out.Heart Meets Soul when you ride...

@ Toxicbiker
Both bikes that you have chosen have opposite behavior.
(+) Fazer will give you more peace of mind and you will be always relaxed.
(-) Cost
(+) Pulsar will keep you ahead of any competition.
(-) Refinement (The Smooth Floating like Feel on Fazer is no where in comparison with a Pulsar)
So the call is yours.
