xBhp was born more than 16 years ago and since then we've had a chance to ride or drive hundreds of machines running on two wheels or four wheels, and sometimes even three wheels. We are not done yet, and this list is still growing. In these pages, we take a deep dive in the treasure trove of our ride experiences and bring you all that we have ridden or driven.

Bikes,Motorcycles,TVSThose who know and follow xBhp know that we are pop culture buffs. Those who visited the old xBhp HQ and those who have been to the MotoVilla know that we are pop culture buffs to a fault. We have spent years experimenting and combining pop culture and motorcycling. Not too long ago, TVS got in on that action too with the Ntorq Super Squad Edition. Then TVS Raider came out, and it got the same treatment. Today, we have with us a very, very special one. TVS Raider Super Squad Edition inspired by Doctor Doom.

Doctor Doom is one of the most iconic villains in the Marvel universe. Yet, only comic book fans know a lot about him. His name is thrown around here and there, but he was never around in the mainstream or in the eyes of the general moviegoing audience. But that is set to change with the announcement and the upcoming release of Avengers: Doomsday. So the time was ripe for TVS Raider to be inspired by one of the strongest characters from Marvel.

We are not going to dive too deep into the tech specs and the performance of the TVS Raider because it has been around for a while, and you all know that it is a pretty fantastic motorcycle. That fact is corroborated by the very impressive sales numbers as well. It is a sporty yet practical commuter; it has nice and accessible performance, the design is pretty good, and the things it offers at the price bracket it sits in, the TVS Raider is a bona fide home run.

It is powered by a 124.8cc engine that makes 11.2 bhp of power and 11.2 Nm of torque. It also gets TVS’ iGO assist, with which the torque goes up to 11.75 Nm. It is a smooth and punchy engine with most of its grunt available right from the get-go. In the city, the TVS Raider thrives. And even on open roads, it does not feel massively underpowered. So it strikes a nice balance between practicality and performance.

In terms of features too, the TVS Raider is impressive. It has a connected LCD instrument cluster, iGO assist, LED lighting all around, a USB-C fast charger rated up to 27W, TVS’ GTT (Glide Through Traffic), Riding modes, dual disc brakes with ABS and even traction control. It is a mighty impressive list for a motorcycle in this class. And considering what a tech buff Victor Von Doom is, we think he’d approve.

Now, let us talk specifically about the Doctor Doom edition of the TVS Raider. First off, the colour and the way TVS has executed the design is very impressive. It has a Spectral Green finish, a menacing name for the colourway… very fitting considering the inspiration. Another thing we loved about this colour is how it shifts between green and brownish as the light hits it from different angles. The concealed mask on the fuel tank is another nice touch, along with the branding and badging in line with the TVS Super Squad Edition designs.

Talking about Doctor Doom, let us tell you a bit about him to prime you up for the TVS Raider and the upcoming movie. Victor Von Doom, who eventually becomes Doctor Doom, is a genius scientist, a master of technology, and a prodigious sorcerer. He is also the ruler of his own country, a fictional one by the name of Latveria. The country somehow reminded us of a strange little breakaway country in Europe, Transnistria, which we visited last year. Back to Doctor Doom and a little nudge to why they may have chosen RDJ to play him… in a particular volume of comics, Doctor Doom actually became Iron Man, or the Infamous Iron Man, complete with his own suit of armour!

We think that the rest of the lore can be left for Marvel to tell. Overall, Doctor Doom has been one of our favourite characters, not just from Marvel but among all the superheroes and supervillains, the references to which can be found at MotoVilla.

Among our extensive pop culture-inspired collection, the TVS Raider Super Squad Edition Doctor Doom looked right at home… a really nice addition to the already comprehensive Super Squad Edition lineup… even if you are not a fan of Marvel, this Raider still looks rad even without all the backstory!
