• Doing a 100KM trip on my bicycle tomorrow

Planning a 100Km ride on my bicycle tomorrow. It's gonna be hot and there is a chance of seeing a thunderstorm, a great day to stay outdoor You can get the weather forecast here Weather in Jorhat - AccuWeather Forecast for Assam India It'd be ride in minimalistic style, will be riding my old beat up bicycle with bald front tire, and only thing I'll take with me would be a bottle of water and 50 rupees. No matter how bad the conditions are, I won't stop the bicycle.

The reason for doing this, nothing, I just wanna do it and get out of inferiority complex. Will post detailed log tomorrow night after I finish my ride. I don't have a camera phone so I may not be able to take photos, but I'll try to borrow one from a friend.
I am back!

Wonderful to hear this. I am sure you would be on the road by the time this thread gets approved.

All the best and believe me, you will have no complex about anything after riding around for 100 km.

Just make sure you keep yourself properly hydrated at all times. Also eat sufficiently along the way.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Cycling is so cheap, that you like to try your luck with minimum cash. I cycled my first 100 km with 20 bucks, just incase for puncture repair.

But was so hungry after 50km that I stopped and ate Samosa, Jalebi and a cup of chai in that money and returned home with nothing but lint in my pocket

Re: Doing a 100KM trip on my bicycle tomorrow

Reached home around 4:45PM, tired as hell and my butt hurts like I was doing something Dostana style. Could not borrow a phone as I was in a hurry, will post detailed travelogue soon. The was expanded to 170KMS or more, I have yet to calculate the distance. I was not feeling tired after 100KMS so thought let's try 200. Had to stop after like 150KMS though but I guess my goal of non stop riding for 100KMS achieved.

Almost all of my riding was on the highway, it had some high places but not very much. The wind was pushing me backwards though, and some bridges were so hard to get on that I had to crouch to reach it. All my riding was on the NH37 and NH61, NH61 is butter smooth but the condition of NH37 was really bad, and anybody who rode on NH37 would complain that it's narrow and the unpaved sides of the highway would make a great motocross track. I intentionally rode on the unpaved side for some time to enjoy the off-roading thrill and to make the challenge a little bit harder.

xpranav My thighs are sore and my shoulders hurt a little due to constantly holding the handle I guess, fingers got little pain from braking often as I was riding in some congested roads. Back hurts like usual and most importantly there's some pain in the knees, not sure if I'd be able to stand up if I sit on the toilet for long But overall, I'm happy. Never had such a good sleep in years. Oh, I forgot to mention, my eyes are somewhat red due to all those annoying insects that got into my eyes. BTW posted the first part of the travelogue here. Well I was hyper active to post in your travelogue thread already.

I was only concerned about the physical resilience that you were carrying, because cycling for a 175 kms on a stretch, all of a sudden, was bound to leave the after-effects upon you. Anyways, DARD KE BINA KYA JEENA YAARO

I hope by next time you will be warming up a little before such endeavors. Good Luck
