^^ Uhh i'm sorry dude but i've never even heard of those bikes, i grew up on a staple diet of Heroes and Herculeses, actually i'm new to Firefoxes and so on
I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

the brakes on viper are decent, i wont say they're the best, cuz most cable actuated disc brakes available in our country arent the best grabbers out there. given a choice i would prefer the hydraulic ones ( i have a pair of 'hayes' hydraulic brakes on my steed)

the brakes on the vipers have a long wear in period. what i mean is, in due course of time, the brakes do get better. but honestly, if you're lookin for some serious offroad fun, invest in better brakes.

those front forks dwarfs Fz-16 forks
yes buddy, oversized forks are a norm in the mountain bike world. one of the beefiest forks ever to grace a mountain bike was the marzocchi supermonster. it rivalled most motorcycle proportions !! m sure the fz16 forks would've looked like tooth picks in front of it !!

have a look here. fitted on to a grossman freeride mountain bike

yes buddy, even normal brakes are good for stoppies! its not necessary that you need disc brakes for stoppies.

well, m divided on this one!!! i would go for the trek, considering the components, i would go for the firefox viper, considering the frame geometry. if both of these could be mix bred , nuthing like it ( for the price)

the trek has got a very 'entry level' look, where as the viper has got a better looking and technologically advanced frame ( the downtube is hydroformed 7000 series aluminum)
its got a very low standover height, so the chances of your nether regions hitting the toptube is much lesser as compared to the trek.

the trek has better components, than the viper. the front suspension on the viper is worse than anything i've ever ridden. its got 2 inches of sticky mucky travel. if m not mistaken, the trek comes equipped with RST forks . which is quite decent. even the drivetrain is better on the trek.

if i had the choice, i would go for the viper, and upgrade it to better components, thats what i've done with my viper! all of the stock parts are lying somewhere someplace in my house, the frame however has got 'manitou stance' front forks, 'shimano' cranksets and bottom bracket. cnc machined stem and 1.5 inch riser bars by 'powertools' and the works !

bottom line, i llllllllovvve the viper frame!!
