Hassle free, good FE touring Big bike. May I have that kind of money someday so that my wife stops complaining being a pillion on my 220

    Kudos da.
    Thanks!

Boss the pillion seat is so comfy that even the rider would want to sit there. I wonder what they were thinking when they designed the pillion seat. Yes, very good touring machine indeed!

    Haha!

    But it is beautiful.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Ken Da: Your romance with the Bavarians continues! And who better than you to write about em, again a fabulous write up for an equally deserving steed.

By the way, you mentioned the k1300S also got reviewed, I couldnt find a link for it. Can you please share it..

Brilliant review Ken da. Excellent narration and pics. Simple words, no drama yet very crisp and clear and just what i was looking for. Real world sorta feedback. This is the kind of review that will help potential buyers (I'm not in the market for it yet, sadly , nevertheless, very well put )

Just a couple of questions and finer points in your review I would like to appreciate.

        1. Is this available in India currently? The price tag of INR 15L is ex-showroom i assume (includes Indian invoice, bill and warranty, duty paid etc.?)

        2. I could calculate an FE of 20kmpl so that makes it a very effective and practical bike to own - commuter if you want to enjoy it everyday and mile muncher for those long rides outta town

        3. How is the service backup and spare parts availability for beemer bikes in India?

        4. Does this require high octane fuel to run without knocking or other issues?

        5. For INR 1L the add-on's are definitely worth it.

        6. If i had the moolah, i would buy this instead of the FZ-1 or the CB1000R. This looks understated but to the keen eye, its a subtle yet very classy looking machine

        7. With the engine heads protruding outwards on either sides, is there any kind of protective guard available that can be bolted on (without modifications) to the frame or the bike? If the bike does fall what kind of damage would this part suffer (with or without the guard)?

Thanks in advance for answering my Q's

BMW 2 wheeler division hasn't officially arrived in India. They are selling it through their existing car dealer network. Spare parts shouldn't be a problem considering BMW's brand name is at stake but you know what had happened with Ducati.

It must be running on high compression ratio, so isn't that High Octane fuel will work only!?

FZ1 & CB1000R is of totally different category. This is exactly a bike for people who would rarely go to the tracks but would love to take the off beaten track
