    Absolutely, saying that the Multistrada will not be comfy in India is surprising, but then to each to his own. Also the pics were well, quiet ordinary and they dont do justice to the text at all!

      Very well written riding experience Ken!!! Loved reading it.

      Shouldn't it be a two valves per cylinder??

          I still remember the day when I test rode this monster beneath me....when I set on it, it felt so easy and comfortable that I did not think that it is a monster carrying so much of power within. However, as soon as it started one could feel the power, I was not sure how the power output will be. But I was amazed to see that it is so light and easy to handle. And it is actually a machine that give you power as per your wish, the amount of throttle you use the amount of power you get.....

            very well written, Ken sir.

            Exactly my thoughts when I got to ride this Italian beauty. When I saw it for the first time, it just reaffirmed my belief that when Italians design a bike, they have beauty pageant winners in their mind.

            and less we talk about its torque, the better we are. I still remember the moment when i opened its throttle, even in 4th gear, it seemed like the bike would race away leaving me far behind. My first ride on a naked big bike, I'd prefer it any day over the faired ones to ride in city. What a comfortable ride!

                @Ken...

                Extremely elaborate write-up Ken, and great narration of how you felt too! Red appears more attractive than the black...what do you think?

                Would you take one of these to Leh, if given the chance?

                @Sunny...

                Am certainly not qualified to be opining here, since I've only seen the 2010 Monster, Streetfighter and Multistrada in flesh, without even getting a chance to fire the ignition. But considering that you'll be touring 7000kms with quite a bit of luggage and equipment, and considering that the Multistrada has 57 litres of luggage space, central stand, power sockets, wind protection, and of course that 4-in-1-bike promise, I have this feeling that your forthcoming Italian trip will be all that more a joy in the making, if you are able to get hold of the Multi.

                  @MG and Sunny: Both of you are more than 10cms taller than I am. When I sit on anything like the Multistrada, other typical examples are the GS, the TDM, wherein when I have to stop the bike in a hurry and I put my foot down and instead of tarmac there is grass where I put my foot down, I go down... and with me, the bike too. It happens to clumsy short riders like me! That is what I meant by not being comfortable. Not the comfort of riding the bike per se on the roads!

                  Red is Way more attractive than Black. And 2Lacs more expensive too!

                  As for Ladakh and Spiti, both the Multistrada and the Streetfighter would do them easily.
                  The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

                    I don't know about the Multistrada, but the Streetfighter can really conquer ANY tarmac (or the lack of it)!

                      Ken Da,

                      Amazing read there reminds me of the day when I rode the Desmo!! Nothing can match the mind vacuum generate by a Ducati. For one moment you feel that the bike is ruling the scene and you are just a mere spectator, and then in a flash of a second it's all you and the bike is enjoying being the player and the spectator both at the same time!! The sound, the power, the torque (and the pricee ) everything about a Ducati is a bench mark blown apart in time and space.

                      The best thing I liked about your review is the way you brought things in perspective with the inlines. Really this clears the picture a lot for most of us who are addicted to sporty inlines and really want to know the difference.

                      In short I found this a complete review of the machine. It couldn't have been better
                      Twist your wrist and feel the shift!!

                      My own thoughts - Throttle

                          Suspension Settings

                          Did a bit of googling, and found that the Sachs rear suspension unit is adjustable at preload, so guess a little experiment with that could do away with the suspension observation Ken Da made

                            The Topcase is very handy for city riding and very spacious too. But it is a very bad idea if you are travelling fast and long! And coastal Italy can be quite windy with the Mistral.

                              ^I am sorry but i dont think its the case (pun intended). I dont intend to hit 180 kmph like you did, plus the crosswinds are always more of a concern on a full faired bike.
