      +10 for the balaclava suggestion.

I originally wore balaclavas to avoid the inside of my helmet getting greasy and to reduce bacterial growth in the liner. But I noticed that after I take off the balaclava, my hair looks awesome. I have short to medium length hair.

Skull caps don't seem to work so much for me in that regard.

Should take care how you put the balaclava on; I invert the balaclava till the forehead part and wear it with a front-to-back action, this keeps the hair slicked back and off my forehead. I find hair on my forehead extremely annoying (and hence distracting) while riding.

        Hair Loss

        Hi,

Have any one experienced or feels that there is hair loss with prolonged use of the helmet.
I have a feeling that i am loosing hair (also my helmet is a bit too tight, will be getting a new one soon).

Is it true that there is hair loss with the use of helmet. Also any suggestions how to avoid this (as we cannot avoid riding )

        Thanks,
        Subu.

If you are having a spike hair style. you can use Hair clay and hair spray to give your hair a long lasting style.

Hair clay are available in Professional Salons. Good brands are Loreal etc. Hair spray can be purchased from there, Wella is a good make. Both would cost around 1000 INR +/- 200 INR. Use very little wax to give the look that you need, once done. Apply Hair spray for the hair to stay as you desired.

Hair Clay should be used in very little quantity. Take very little quantity and rub with your plams and then apply.

See people can get serious to settle hairy affairs by the way this thread can be used to promote various gel creams in the market

Its very tough for me to set it right.Being maintaning a long hair ....after the helmet use my hair becomes flat or can say glued to my head flatly ..I have to comb it right for ages together in the washroom
The rising petrol prices burn your pocket not your riding soul!

Bad Hair Day because of Helmet! Any Solution?

Hey Guys, I am sure all of you also face this issue, so I thought of discussing it here to see if anyone has any solution for it.

The issue is that whenever I (or anyone for that matter) ride my bike wearing helmet for about 15-20 kilometers and when I take off my helmet, my hair are pasted to the scalp and the hairstyle is completely ruined. The same hair style which, about 30 minutes ago, was fluffy and good-looking is now "flat" and ruined and sometimes even oily . The situation gets worse when riding for longer distance/time. Brushing/Combing your hair again just doesn't help. I have tried wearing a hanky also on my head before wearing a helmet but that too does not help. Because of this, there are occasions like a small friends' get-together where I would love to go on my bike but because I know the helmet is going to ruin the hairstyle (and the pics ), I avoid going on bike.

                        Any solutions for this problem?

Are there any such helmets out there which maintain a slight gap between your hair and the inside surface of helmet without compromising safety?

The best solution is to get a crew cut; no matter what the situation it always looks neat and clean I did the same since i got tired of my long hair sticking to my forehead and also they used to cover my eyes wile riding

What a Ride!' -Hunter S. Thompson

Yeah, that's one solution but not possible for me as of now.

Does a balaclava help? Any idea guys?

You cant help it.. I usually save this punch dialogue for these kind of situations..

You have hair, I've a head.
You will have hair and I still will have a head.

My hairstylist suggested a short hair cut. or before you wear your helmet, style your hair using a good styling gel with water, leave it for half an hour and then wear a helmet. And when you remove your helmet your hair should still be a little fluffy and with a swipe of your hand through your hair it should get back to its original state. if it doesnt, go to the restroom cover your hand with a thin film of water and swipe through your hair to get back your style. Apparently it works.

I dont know cause I'm yet to try it. and i dont care. Hope that helps.
