Wrong; not for me; I use the clock in mobile & hence no need to carry watch, alarm clock, calculator, converter.

For a more high end feature.. a compass on a watch is a very useful feature while touring as it can help you gauge your general direction of motion and ensure that you are not going the wrong way. Especially useful at night and around mid-day when you cannot depend on the sun for your directions.

My current watch has a temperature sensor(digital thermometer) and displays ambient temperature... though not a very useful feature.. but gives you photographable temperature data / proof and an upper hand in temperature related arguments .

Having a clock on the speedo is really cool, and useful. I remember the Bajaj Legend scooter, (or was it the LML Vespa? I,m not sure, I was quite small then!) that had an analogue clock alongside the speedo!

So does anyone have any specific watches in mind, or that they own, and would like us all to know about?

i got soo used to the inbuilt watch in the speedo on both my bikes (RTR and ZMA) that i search for the clock when am riding my splendor

other than that wrist watch is'nt much useful while on ride since am anyways will be wearing gloves over it. Currently i have a Times Mariner series watch gifted by my friend

And also a 14yr old timex zulu watch which my dad gave me.

                      G-Shock Mudman

                      Mine's the G-Shock Mudman

it's got an inverted LCD. Dark background, light number.

                      Waterproof | Rainproof | Shockproof | Mudproof.

The feature i really like is the Auto EL Illuminator.

                      while i'm riding...
all i need to do is twist my wrist to look at the face of the watch
and the display lights up automatically.
                      .
