^I guess about 2-3 metres if the water isn't too murky..
:P
I'm sorry bro, I really dont know anything about marine engineering.
Back to the topic, @thread starter: Plz don't look at the job scenario even before joining either mech/civil. If you find you really don't like what you're doing a few years down the line, and so don't perform so well, then you will be in dire straits when placements descend on you. Do what you LOVE to do, and do it well. Money will follow.
Comparing your choices, Maths and Physics both figure a LOT in both. Don't make that the criteria for choosing either of them.
There's no turning back once you've picked something.. sadly the mindset here is to first look at the ease in which we will get a job/money etc. and then the field is chosen..

Wise decision, welcome to the group of grease monkeysOriginally posted by sam92 View Postin AP .. there is only 1 college offering marine
BTW AFTER CONSIDERING EVERY POINT AND ALL THE POSSIBILITIES
i decided that mechanical is a safer and more versatile topic ..
i may be wrong but this is what i feel i can do
so many xbhp mechanical engg helped me but i havent seen a single civil guy
i also consulted a professor and he said that calculations are more in civil and its tougher than mech
THANK YOU XBHP AND ALL ITS MEMBERS WHO HELPED ME
XBHP ROCKS AGAIN
@ all --you think we should open a counsultant website ?

it would be pretty easy for u to get into MJ as u'll have the reservation..Originally posted by Jawed View PostHii guys..
I 2 completed my 12th.
I'm preferring CSE & CIVIL as i got 40K rank in EAMCET.
My 1st preference would be MUFFAKHAMJAH (MJCT) and d list goes ooon..
@thread starter: Wat rank did u get?Biking is not my Passion, it is my Religion!

You said you are good in maths, then take up mechanical engg. as you have natural love for automobiles. You can later do MTech in automobiles / IC Engines / Design /etc etc to narrow your career into certain field. By the time you finish BE/BTech you'll have fair idea about choice of your specialization in M.Tech.Originally posted by sam92 View Postbasically i am moving into a engineering college and i am stuck between civil and mechanical engineering.. [i have no other option, so please dont suggest anything other than these 2 ]
i know there are many xbhpians who are very inteligent and have lived their lives more than me
my request is that to provide me your experience about this world which i have no idea ..
1i am weak in physics and chemistry.as in like carrying huge calculations. but i love geometry .. and i love automobile[that is what is confusing me]
i know this world is too small for following dreams so i thought of more conventional life and path ..

Personal Opinion
According to me the most toughest is Electronics & Telecommunication and Electrical Engineering.
Take an example of a simple computer motherboard. Its a rectangular board which maybe comtaining million of tiny circuits hardly visible by the naked human-eye. You need a microscope or something to work on these stuffs. What i am trying to say is, a thing seems to be disinteresting when u cant see that thing with naked eye. No person in this whole world have been able to see an electron or electrons flowing through the circuits even with a microscope, although everyone says that electrons exists. Ofcourse it has been proved by various experiments but seeing is believeing, right?:-)
This is not the case in Mechanical Engineering. Take an example of an Internal Combustion engine. All the parts of it can be easily seen with the human naked-eye. There is a piston which is enclosed in a cylinder. It is connected to the crankshaft by a connecting rod. The connecting rod is connected to the piston by a Grudgeon pin. The cylinder is closed by the head from top and crankcase from bottom. The head consists of valves namely Inlet and Exhaust Valve. It also consist of Spark Plug to ignite the AF mixture. the inlet valve is connected to the carburetor and exhaust valve to the exhaust/silencer. When the AF mixture is ignited inside the cylinder, the piston undergoes reciprocating motion and this reciprocating portion is vonverted to the rotational motion of the crankshaft. This motion of the crankshaft is transmitted to the rear wheel of motorcycle via set of gears and sprockets.
So the thing is, its eady to imagine how an IC engine works because because we can see the different parts easily and we know where they are located inside or outside the engine. Nothing is hypothetical. Yes Mech Engg is tough but hard work brings success.
In case of I.T nd C.S Engg, you have to workout everything in a computer by putting the codes and seeing the output. So its kind of theory like to by-heart the codes.
Dont know about the rest.
Its my personal opinion. All the I.T, EXTC, C.S OR Electrical dudes out there please dont throw your shoes at me :-D.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Cheers!!
