which city you are in...coz i cant see your location in tapatalk. if you are in pune. i can tell you a place you can get best deals in laptop.
speed wont be an issue in dual core laptops, unless you are into hard core computing or real hi-end gaming.

Acer,but bhaiya does it have a long hassle free life span? Not that I know much about laptops but vis-a-vis each other which one has a fairly longer life before needing a new battery?
I like Surat,Gujarat. But have cousins in Pune. Can have them courier it to me.

Background: I have a P4 CRT desktop bought for 31,100INR back in 2005. Not ONCE has it given me a problem and still runs with perfection. Laptops are a different story, I'm assuming. Cant expect such long lives(?). Need a laptop anyhow,more for portability.

2.1 Kg is pretty decent for a 14 inch laptop. My own 14 incher is over 600gm heavier in stock form. And the processor in question is *almost* as good as a 2nd gen Intel i3 in terms of performance AND power efficiency.

My Acer Aspire 4710 is almost 5 years old now and I use it day in day out. The hinges have broken thrice (known issue for this particular model). Using my 2nd battery (1st change) but I went for an aftermarket extended battery (12cell 6600 mAH) so the battery backup is excellent (5-6 hours easy) but it did add about 1/2 a kilo to an already heavy laptop.

BUT, I doubt Acer has a model which will offer you a similar deal. Still, do look around while you can.

i had purchased acer ...same specs except 15.XX inch monitor, i guess, 1.5-2.0 years ago at 21500 with some additional goodies thrown in ...like mouse, headphones etc.. working fine till date.

acer is a known brand. if you want i can enquire here in pune, if you agree to dual core specs...

edit: i guess acer is better than samsung

^^^ The configuration is settled with. Suits my need and would certainly avoid the need to upgrade for a long time to come. (Even if the need crops up, there is an unused slot for an extra RAM).

@Princebhaiya: That'll be great help, indeed. But Acer or samsung?

@Ananthbhaiya: The Samsung has pretty *pretty* specs on the sheet. If there's an Acer with the very same specs, what do you suggest (disregarding the price)?
Edit: Since you have a first hand experience with Acer and Pricebhaiya suggests Acer, seems legit to go for it?

taking this discussion forward...

1) acer laptops are more widely known and accepted.
2) acer is primarly a computer products company whereas samsung is a consumer electronics company.
3) as far as i know samsung laptops do not sell that well, in terms of numbers.

but i also have a doubt, dual core processors are 32-bit or 64-bit. as the world is somewhat moving to 64-bit processors and softwares, wait, i think you can get even an i3 processor in 22000, yes minus the goodies. you decide your maximum budget and confirm. we will help you out.

sorry my estimate was wrong about i3, but yes dual core is right. these are initial prices over the phone.

i think with good bargain- acer dual core = 20000 & i3 = 25000

did you enquired in your city, what are the prices.

I couldnt. Bed ridden for the next 2 days due to back injury (before you too point fingures towards my beautiful R15 allow me to clarify it happened during the 'handi-breaking' session on Janmashtami).
