Where are you learning this stuff ? May be I'll give it a try.
CHEERS,
G D
Well they say you shouldn't be trying to imitate the things they do on youtube or other videos otherwise you might end up breaking your bones
But at least the training exercises can be learnt from there.
There are a lot of forums for Parkour/FreeRunning around the internet where you can find articles for learning and training for it. That's what doing. Reading through, watching videos and trying to recollect my long forgotten karate training
PS: as per your signature, looks like you also have bought FZ ?
@sumit i had the dvd meaning a divx rip which i had got of torrents but sadly i scratched the cd, try a torrent search on mininova r google u might just find it.

Okay. Yes sir ji, I sold my P 180 classic & bought an FZ just yesterday. You know I have this thing for Nakeds, he he he. The bike's great for city riding, very light & easy to maneouver, got good pick up, very good for cornering, it gives you a lot of confidence.
PS: I just want to spread an awareness about this new sport/art among our fellow xBhpians. I do not mean to divert our concentration/attention from the obvious topic on xBhp i.e. biking. If mods feel that this kind of thread shouldn't be continued, they can lock it.
Good to see this one around. I practiced parkour for quite sometime about couple of years ago and got in touch with two Indian Free runners. I am not sure if the Guy called Pankaj in the site given by you Sumit is the same guy. But, the one I met online had the same name. He was also featured in one TOI edition too. I then got into other stuff and cudn't pursue it anymore. Moreover I don't have spaces around me to practice. I wish I had couple of guys around with whom I can. Practicing alone is kinda risky :P.
I am hoping to see some videos of you Sumit and other guys around who practice it. I feel it is a really interesting way of expressing freedom and undoubtedly it is one of the best workout regime. Risk are there but there is nothing worthy in the world that involves no risk.
I have just started training, slowly building the foundation. I am able to do some basic stuff like roll, vault which would be required when I start complex stuff.
I am emphasizing mainly on physical strength so that I am able to support my body weight and momentum. It would be suicidal to try doing the moves shown in the videos with your body not prepared for it.
The video shows only the successful moves but that guy must have fallen down several times before executing perfectly. So do keep this in mind.
Sumit,
I have heard about this chap called Ashwin who teaches Parkour in Bangalore...hope the link is useful
Hammer the racetrack. Pace yourself on the street.
I have hurt my elbow while trying monkey vault in my home. You see lack of technique and practice will hurt you
Nonetheless not giving up, just giving my elbow some time to heal and then again I'll start practicing
When do you get it? I mean doing what you get the pain. As said earlier first your joints should be flexible enough and hands (forearms, shoulders) should be strong enough to handle the weight of your body.
Do regular pullups, pushups and if possible some weight training too.
