Hey guys! I'm Santosh from Hyderabad. Thank you OP for this thread!
I enjoy playing the guitar and I've been playing on a Yamaha F310 acoustic guitar for quite some time now. I like listening to most types of music.. Used to borrow cassettes from friends - Backstreet boys (lol), AC/DC, Bryan Adams, ABBA, Gunsn'Roses. I used to frequent music shops a lot in my school and I spent time listening to stuff on their preview player. I saved (or stole) money to buy cassettes from bands like Nirvana, Linkin Park, Korn and the early 2000s American hard rock.
In school, I convinced my dad to fix his broken Philips record player after I realized that he had a fantaaastic collection of records. Although I didn't know who was what back then, I went by the design on the cover. The first song I listened to on the record player was "Star" from some disco album by a Pakistani bro-sis duo (Nazia and Zoheb Hassan) through those wooden Philips speakers. I also heard "We are the Robots" by Kraftwerk on that record player for the first time. I couldn't get enough of it!
After CDs became more popular, I started getting into more music and suddenly threw myself into Metal. I have grown up listening to a lot of Scandinavian Melodic Death Metal, Folk Metal, Viking Metal, Black Metal and what not such as In Flames, At the Gates, Behemoth, Amon Amarth and so on. Then began a phase where I was only listening to prog rock or avant-garde music - Floyd, Rush, Focus, Opeth and so on.
Now, I listen to more obscure prog music and some older music haha. Also, the occasional progressive house. So, that has been my musical discovery. Thank you for reading so much

Cheers!
