Personally I understand the mental torture you have gone through. I know it is really difficult to see things straight with the trauma. I crashed many times on my bike and spent quite a lot on it (around 10-12k). I am not giving up the riding, part of my life.

Take a chill pill. I advice you to take rest from biking for a while, divert your mind from all the horrible incidents and start afresh.

I understand how difficult situation it was for you. Just stay away from biking for an year and be comfortable and start things afresh. Things will settle in time as are injuries (mental/physical).

Dude, be careful. Dont blame urself for your miseries man. Think with a clear mind and think positive, it helps overtime.

Have had dozens of crashes of my own. And im not born with a silver spoon. Make it up to your parents by working and earning if you are truly concerned about finances, instead of sitting idle and worrying about it. But as far as you are concerned, being depressed and giving up on biking or anything for that matter will make it worse for you.

Anyways just think with a clear mind, be alert when you ride. Riding with a lot of thoughts in your head will ensure u will end up on the road again.

Gladiator is a nice bike man. It aint crap. I've ridden worser bikes before i've got the best. Be happy dude, you can ride, cuz there are many who cant, even if they wanted to!

And as far as leaning is concerned, do it step by step, just shifting weight will crash you. Do it little by little if you attempt it again.

If you must take a break, then do it by all means. But then you never know what's in store for you the moment you get back to riding. Maybe you've got some 'bad luck' with riding . Get your horoscope checked . lol If your more concerned. Maybe that will tell you when is the best time to ride. But even that wont prevent crashes. You need to be confident and ride carefully.

Be strong, learn from your experiences and from that of others. It'll help you in the long run.

            Good Luck

P.S. Your profile says your from Pune! I've ridden a bit in Pune a few months ago. Beautiful place and roads. How can u stop riding there! You have so many places to ride to!

            Cheers!

I've given up my membership at foodforums.com as well...swine flu, salmonella poisoning, diarrhoea, smelly flatulence and other risks just became too much for me to handle...
I dont think I will be eating in India anymore...

              sigh...

seriously, upgrade your riding skills, invest in pukka gear and attend a trackday or two. Perhaps you are happy to putter around town and ride like your ass-hairs are on fire once you hit the track...

I know someone who rides with broken collar bones. I know someone who has crashed several times and someone who has been in a fight.

I have had near misses in traffic! Only solution being the ghats and outskirts.

Yes man India sucks with regards to bike riding. But these above mentioned people and i will not give up biking so easily! We have had some bad experiences that left us with some mental scars. But the bike gives us the spirit to move on!

Time will heal, don't worry, ride on!
                cheers!

Leaning on public roads? Be careful man. I think you should be doing these things in a controlled environment, like on a track or private roads.
You have to careful on Indian roads and there's no way around it. Certainly not giving up..

                      IMHO
one is more exposed to elements on road while commuting in city, than on highways

if its ur decision then i respect it, not here to bash you around "Gore". But a police case was needed even a press conference, u cannot blame your escape hood on other ppl being pussy. I know situation of maharashtra, i have handled Goons myself on a 2 day trip to Pune no offence to ppl who stay there but the city is dead silent and seems less safe.

Do not blame it on the country, you did not take responsibility yourself too.

A very shameful incident. Hope you are physically 100% fit now.

But, I'm surprised by your decision.

Yes, even I had a couple of incidents(but not as serious as this), which made me think the same like you did, for a short period of time. But as the time passed by, my thinking became more mature.

I accepted it as a bitter truth, and decided to move on, though my subconscious mind sometimes 'votes' against it.

So my friend, please do not change your passion, for the sake of those fools out there!

wow! see "Gore"(what's your name buddy?) You have started on the right foot. By venting out your frustration through this thread, life has already begun to work in the positive for you. Look at all these posts. Don't you see? There's more to life and biking for that matter! Like Ravi said. Take a break from the motorcycle for now. Things will definitely get better. You're an educated, young, blessed individual. Not some ill-fated cursed for life limbless and lifeless rat!

So cheers to you my friend.
                            God bless.

P.S.: Sorry if it came across as a fatherly speech. And yes, we all go through the same experience. Just in different forms.

Bro, I feel bad for you, for that incident. But, "Biking" is not about leaning, racing, etc.

Biking includes commuting, & as you say, you will continue Commuting, I say you will continue Biking.

Just get more riding gears, get "Wear Helmet, Be Safe" written on back of your helmet. This way, people will understand that you have a social message... Maybe its not affordable now, but you'll get it later...

And continue Commuting & visiting this forum like usual. Biking includes commuting too, you know that bro?

Dude dnt give up biking as it is told that before running u will have to learn to walk and sometimes u wil have a fall doing that but it doesnt mean that u wil have to give up walking altogether cause of the fear of falling. Wht happened to u was not under your control so u cant blame yourself for everything. And look at all the support u r getting here i know u wnt give up biking this easily.

                                Come on man FIGHT!!!!!!
