  • Your bike name and the reason behind it

    2015 Duke 390 Black

    Name: Albatross

Reason: Black body with white crash guards looks like albatross. Also I feel like flying while driving this bike Cz of high seating position than other bikes.

I have a Hero Maestro and I call him Chetak as he is a beast and only scooter (i am pretty sure about this) to have touched the speed of 110 km/hr. Yes it's "110" and this is not once but many a times.

Chetak as the name of the famous horse of Maharana Pratap.

            My Ride : R15 V2.0
Its name : Magarmacch ki Aulaad (Son of a crocodile).

Reason : I am a skinny guy 5'7 and weigh 45 kgs. 2 years ago when I bought the bike, took it to temple for pooja, parked it in front of temple. The bike was parked in such a way that the front tire was off road and the tarmac was few inches high than the footpath. After the pooja I sat on the bike and tried to push it back on road in reverse, becaue there were other bikes on both sides, but since the front tire was a few inches below the tarmac and the bike was more than 3 time my body weight, I was not able to do so. No matter how much I tried but the front tire won't climb on to the tarmac and the bike won't move. It just lay there lazily like a giant lazy crocodile in sun and no matter what I did I won't budge. At that instant I named it Magarmacch ki Aulaad (Son of a crocodile).

My Parents and sister were sitting in the car and laughing their heads off. After they stopped laughing my dad came to my rescue and pushed the bike back on road.
Lesson learned the first day of R15 ownership - "Always park the stupid bike facing the road, so that I can start the engine and ride it out of the parking spot; and don't have to push it back".

I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Storm catcher- I go on spontaneous solo rides, night or day and I've never felt short of power... Though my friends call it a beast... Cuz handing it in city is a skill not many possess

'MACK' Wanted the name to resemble 'Mac 3' in speed racer! As days passed by, Began calling her "Maxy" due to the ever growing affection towards her.

ooo fun thread! I didn't used to call my bike names but recently, I usually call what people here in Gurgaon gave her the name. The name being my favorite dish kind of grew on me (I hated it first)

                        The Name: Kadhi Chawal.

Bike: 2008 Yellow (Moon Yellow as the folks at hero Corp calls it) Hero Karizma (Back then it was Hero Honda).

Till date it an attention magnet and runs like a stallion packed with horses refined to perfection.

                        Peace!

Had a similar experience once, but in my case it was some group of college girls that were laughing at me instead of my family!

That is funny man. Being skinny and bone thin allows people to make lots of jokes .
Even after 2 years I still get teased by my friends and co-workers about my bike.
They say - Ankit hook yourself to the bike or you'll get blown away.
How on earth do your skinny legs take the weight of the bike, they can barely support your own weight.
I know why his R15 gives 50+ mileage, because he weighs nothing.. and so on.
                            cheers.

Yeah, this is also the very reason our stock R15 can hit 138 kmph.

Size won't matter much, I bet even the average to healthy looking guys couldn't have done it either. Above all, the real deal is we should put up a cool face while doing this kind of work without showing the strain by our facial expressions. This makes the situation even tougher and awkwarder.

I call my white Duke 390 "Ovange"
Why: Cause my son used to call it Ovange. He basically calls the "r" in orange a "v"
Now he is 3 and calls it dUUKK but the name Ovange is still used
