my mom dad use to b not convinced at some time, but after my continuous insist i got my first bike 4 years back, which was Activa..
Soon they got use to it, within a year i sold it off & got myself a karizma..!!
when my dad sometimes sit wid me pillion, the moment i reach close to 60, i get a tight squeeze on my shoulders... i hav to b within 60..
even my bike hates it, but cant help it sometimes..!!

its fun.. my sis knows bout it.. coz she reaches office really fast sometimes when i take her.. hence bolti band..!!

but yes..ppl.. parents r there to worry.. they really get bothered till v come back home safely.. they call me up in evening to ask if i had something or not, basically they mean is if am safe..!!
but ripping off the bike is an addict.. cant help it.. sorry mom & dad..!!

my mom is bit scared of bike since she's read about too many youngsters getting hurt in accidents

dad on the other hand thinks motogp is 10x cooler than formula 1
he even dragged with my in his indica (petrol) and i reached 120 on the speedo
then he was like "hmmm, 14hp and 110+ isnt bad "

and i have always got an yes when it comes to buying riding gears(extremely safety conscious) my parents themselves say its better to spend practically than for the sake of looks and show

and they approved of the solo long trip that i plan to make in feb 2009
all i can give in return is to ride responsibly and return back without a scratch

so i do consider myself very lucky indeed

Yes, they know. And why not. They see me getting up early on Sundays and shining up my bike and running out with full gears while on other days I get up after half of the world has passed lunch time .

                    Great thread.. !

I won't say I'm unlucky or something... but yea, my mom's a doctor.. she sees 2 wheeler accident victims quite frequently, you guys can imagine the state they are in.. (mostly idiots who dont wear helmets).. I've been driving a passion plus for 5 years now, coz dad doesn't think anything above 100cc is necessary, only asking for trouble in the current driving conditions.. !! Though they're absolutely ok with me taking the car wherever and whenever I need it.. opel corsa, I love it but nothing can beat biking !
I keep trying to convince them that if the driver is bad, he can have an accident and die on a bloody 50cc TVS champ... and in fact the bikes that are coming now (150-250cc) actually are safer, they let the rider do what he thinks is safe while driving (acceleration at right time is important too na!) and disc brakes n whatnot.. but they won't listen...
Anyway.. xBhp is giving me so much to read and relate to in terms of riding experiences, that I guess I can hold off my desire to ride a good bike (read r15)... maybe I'll have better choices when I'm able to buy my own bikes..
